There are many elements to tae kwon do that help with athletics in general. There is the conditioning aspect that helps with building the ability to pace yourself when getting tired and helps to prolong your ability to out last your opponent. There is the strength and power aspect that is developed from the drills that are geared for that purpose. There is also the acrobatic part which basically is the ability to jump and spin while delivering strikes and kicks. It helps in many ways and the skills acquired can be applied to many sports or athletics. More questions or info, contact Alan, Alan Trueba Martial Arts, 407-718-3672.

If you have good conditioning as part of regular class, it could be helpful with any sport. Even if the conditioning is not enough, you will obtain power from the kicking training and drills. It has been showed in comparisons of different martial arts that tae kwon do has the most powerful kicking.
