Go online or just get a new toliet they have nice toliets for as little as $89.00 cheaper than calling a plumber. New toliets are easy to install, just make sure you get a new wax toliet ring that goes between the toliet and the floor. We bought one, just 5 months ago for that price look for the 5 star ratings and how many gallons it does flush. DO NOT get a water saver toliet, it takes two flushes sometimes and that does not save water!

If parts for your toilet are not readily available then your plumber will have to go on a hunt to locate them and then special order them. This takes time and time costs money so my advice is to have a professional plumber install a new " Water Sense Labeled " toilet . The Water Sense Label means that the product meets all water saving criteria for both water savings " and performance ".

Go online and start a search.
On the bowl between the seat and the tank is the brand name.
Also there is a model number on the inside of the tank or tank lid you can use to help in your search.
If you can find an exploded view of the toilet and get the part number you can order that part through your local hardware store or plumber.

Call around to plumbing parts suppliers local to your area, they will ask you the brand along with some other questions. The easiest way to match up parts would be to bring them in with you. Most people do not utilize these companies since the inception of the big box store, most professional plumbers will go to a parts supplier to pick up their parts.

You can try a plumbing supply house, they typically carry more than retail stores. However, not all supply houses sell directly to the general public, sometimes they sell only to licensed plumbers. Your other option would be the internet or to call a plumber. Most good plumbers know where & how to find stuff even the discontinued parts....Good Luck.

Dust off your Yellow Pages and look under Plumbing Fixtures & Supplies - New Dealers and find a local plumbing supplier. Give them a call and tell them what you need. It's always good to know the manufacturer and part number if possible, but be able to describe it in as good a detail as possible. If all else fails call a local plumbing contractor. He'll figure out exactly what is needed, find it and fix it...at a price. But you can rest assured it will be done right the first time without you having to make multiple calls or trips to various suppliers. Good luck!

home depot may be ablle to special order the parts from the factory or you could search on line to find the parts. you may consider buying a new toilet also. New toilets use less water and are better quality than some of the older toilets.

Laura I'd say time to get what brand your toilet is and head to a local plumbing store as they tend to deal in toilets that are more high end or brand name like Elgin. Good luck - Harry Conant - owner
