I am sorry to hear that your child is hurting. It is very tough on the arms and arm pit areas for adults as well as children. He may be using them improperly so please contact his pediatrician for instructions on shifting his weight. Grips can be purchased seperately. the crutch handrips are normally around 7.00 a pair, while the underarm pads can run around the same price. I apreciate your inquiry.
