1. What can I put on my fence to stop dogs urinating on it?
   

   Alas they are killing my plants. I s there any non toxic chemical I can put down on my fence line to keep them away?
   Living in the UK I would probably be sent to jail if I electrified my fence and injured a dog. Afterall more care seems to be given to dogs than children over here. So in all seriousness I am after a chemical spray or paint.

   One of the most effective methods is to use cayenne pepper. You need to have the leeway to put a line of it about one foot out from your fence line. Dogs sniffing for a place to "go" will sniff the pepper before they get to their favorite spot and believe me it won't be a pleasant experience for them. A mixture of black pepper and cayenne pepper is best. Some people suggest also mixing in a little flour to make it more visible when applying. Only drawback: you need to reapply frequently depending on the weather (after rain, etc).
   There is also a product called "Keep Off" that comes in both powder and spray varieties that's moderately effective. The spray is primarily used to keep pets off furniture, etc, while the powder is primarily used in the manner you need: for garden and yard perimeters. You can Google "Keep Off" to locate a distributor near you or you can order it through petfooddirect.com.
   Finally, there are a number of sonic repellents on the market, but they're a little pricey and I've never used them. But if methods 1 & 2 above don't work, it might be your final option.
