Great question. being a huge fan of pushups and knowing about 100 different ways to do them I can definitely help. When doing a pushup, do you feel its harder to push your chest off the ground or are you having a harder time getting your midsection up? Keeping your abdominals tight and contracting your glutes will keep your midsection solid. This is called a plank. Once in this plank your body will become solid and then you can focus more on the strength needed in the upper body. start off also on your knees. This will decrease the amount of your body weight to push up and is an easy way to regress the exercise. Feel free to contact me here or @ fit4udirector@live.com . Thanks so much for the question and contact us anytime for more.

Hello, to get better at push-ups, keep doing push-ups. Start on your knees, keeping your abs tight, and your legs crossed and up off the ground. Concentrate on form, and engage the entire pectoral muscles (chest), by lowering your body to a few inches off the ground. After you can do them on your knees, then progress to standard push ups. Also, benching will increase the appropriate muscles, to get stronger in push ups. Also, your triceps need to be strong, so do some tricep extensions, french presses, and dips. Good luck to you. Keep trying .... and one day you will be knocking them push ups out!
