Actually, chances are your laptop ALREADY IS wireless. Your problem is probably finding (or making) a wireless network to connect to. At Computer Problems Gone, we specialize in building simple, reliable wireless networks for our clients. Visit www.computerproblemsgone.com for details!

Your laptop may already be wireless and perhaps all you need is a wireless access point on your LAN and some configuration. If laptop does not have wireless, you can purchase a usb wireless interface.

To see if you have a wireless port open device manager and check out network interfaces to see if a wireless interface is listed.

You must have a wireless network card installed in your computer. You will need to contract with a wireless internet server, then go to control panel and select wireless network wizard and follow the instructions to set up your new wireless network. Good Luck.

If your laptop does not already have a built in wireless card you can simply buy one also known as PCMCIA. This card can usually be inserted in to a port on your laptop. Once you install the drivers for it using the cd it comes with then you can configure your wireless connection.

if it doesn't have an integrated Wireless card then you can buy an external wireless card for around 50 to 100 dollars. that would get you connected to wireless networks. also you can get a cellular wireless card from a Cellular Phone Company for around 50 to 100 dollars but that would have a monthly service of around 49 to 79 dollars a month.

find out if it has built in WI-Fi. if not you can buy a wireless USB adapter for it. though you'd need a router with your high speed internet service. if you want wireless anywhere you go. then most cell phone carriers have wireless plans for a monthly fee

Depending on the make and model of the laptop, it should have wireless functionality built in. For models without wireless network capabilities, wireless add-in cards might be available. Another option would be a USB wireless adapter. www.bayoutechnologies.com

These devices are in fact a BIT delicate. If you excercise care and are not constantly tugging, torquing the cable where it enters the laptop, it should or could last 3,4,5 years.... or the life of the unit. We see about as many damaged RECEPTACLES on the laptop as we see damaged cords or blown transformers.

Assuming that you already have a wireless router, you will need a wireless adapter for your laptop which many laptops already have installed. If you are running Windows, you can use the Network setup utility to set-up your wireless connection. Now, if you want to skip all of that and go truly wireless, you would need a wireless card, from say "Verizon Wireless" , installed on your laptop and a wireless subscription through the cell company that you purchased the broadband card from (i.e-Verizon Wireless). Hope this helps. -Cory

If its a new computer it may have built in wireless. If not, you need to buy a wireless adapter from some place like best buy.

Enable your wireless card (start, control panel, network and internet connections, network connections, you should see a wireless device, right click, and make sure its enabled)

You also need a wireless access point (a wireless router)

You should get an icon in the bottom right hand corner that looks like a computer screen, you can double click to get options, and select your wireless access point..

almost all laptops manufactured in the the last 3 years have Wireless built into them. Unless the laptop was purchased for a high security location like a bank it has wireless built in.

In windows XP open my computer and on the left hand side you will see my network places click on theat, then click on view network connections. If you have wireless built into your computer it will be shown here. If not, be sure to purchase a USB wireless adapter, so that you could use it on any computer you may need to in the future.

You can purchase these at any office supply store, ie staples, office max, office depot.

Brand isnt that importamt, but I do agree with previous poster that wireless N is what you should buy. Newegg rocks, and is always cheaper, just depends on if you want to wait for it to arrive or not.

You need a wireless (Wi-Fi) adapter that will plug into the laptop. The most popular form factors are either a PC card or a USB type adapter. Make sure that the adapter comes with the right kind of driver software to work with your laptop's operating system version.

At present, there are a wide range of wireless network cards on the market. Which disturbed consumers is how to select an appropriate and portable wireless network card. USB wireless network card is such an appropriate wireless card.
Accordance with the interface and types of points, network card into PCMCIA, PCI interface and USB interface of three. Which, PCMCIA dedicated notebook, PCI interface for desktop machines can be directly plugged into the desktop motherboard PCI slot, while the USB interface, while both can be used in notebook computers, but also can be used in desktop , with plug and play, easy to carry, use and flexible and so on. If you want to choose USB-type, what should pay attention to?
First is the standard of wireless network. Currently on the market of wireless LAN equipment can be divided into support for IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g support of the two products. The USB network adapter card supports IEEE 802.11b standard, the maximum rate of 11Mbps, the card supports IEEE 802.11g standard, the maximum rate of up to 54Mbps, backward compatible with IEEE 802.11b standard, so the best choice when purchasing card support for IEEE 802.11g standard products.
Second is the interface mode. Support USB 2.0/1.1/1.0 currently on the market products that are, but most of the USB interface, USB2.0 interface products have been adopted. USB2.0 interface standard can provide 480Mbps data communication bandwidth, while the speed of USB1.0 is much slower.
Again is the transmission power. USB wireless network card has a certain amount of transmission power. The higher power can be transmitted from the more distant, so try to choose products with a higher transmission power. Especially the recently introduced antenna technology, but also can improve the signal coverage of wireless network card for the mobile office and wireless LAN high-speed Internet to provide new options. In addition, the current main box USB wireless network adapter type and U Disc two kinds of appearance form. Box-based USB wireless cards come with a data extension, most of the antenna exposed, these designs make it easier to put on the desktop. U disk-shaped USB wireless cards generally have the data to extend the line, and its USB connector can also directly access the computer's USB port, U-shaped USB disk antenna are built-in wireless card, so adjust the antenna pointing inconvenience. A comparison or U disk-type card is more compact and convenient.
Summarize, if you need to buy USB wireless network adapter card, choose to support the IEEE 802.11g standard and uses USB2.0 interface, USB-based network card is quite a good choice. www.espow.com
