EMBROIDERY for FAMILY REUNIONS..

I've had a lot of calls, especially recently, from families, looking for printing of their family name. date, sometimes logo-style design.  While I do not print garments (I am an embroiderer and digitizer, only), I do try to send them to some of the printers I know, at least somewhat.

Now, I have a question, as pricing for embroidered shirts or caps can be less or the same as screen-printing, esp when set-up and screen charges are considered.. WHY not go with embroidery?  When my family had a reunion, I did the shirts (and they would have been about 10-12 dollars apiece, all inclusive).. They were great, if I do say so myself, it was 6 years ago, and they are still being worn by me and my family members to this date...

There's a few things one would want to know about both the shirts -- quality of such, and the decision to either embroider or print them.  First, I use what I feel are the best, one-hundred percent COTTON shirts.. I also use the nicest threads, with an array of colors available (more than most printing ink, as most printers do not mix their own)... and, when the emb is done, it just looks nicer and lasts longer, so that you have a memento of this occasion, for years to come.

I realise that some people (esp older-- like me) tend to not want the typical tee-shirt, and for them, I can order and embroider (smaller- no extra fee) the familial design, onto a golf-style shirt.  These shirts are a bit more expensive but are still ONLY about 16.00 for all-- again, this includes the embroidery, garment, and shipping (from Dallas to Austin-- as I get my garments from Dallas).  I can also get "partner" shirts (for women, either in tee or in golfstyle).
Please go to my garment website:  www.catalogsportswear,com/annesembroidery
and fill out the request for pricing.  Pricing does change throughout the year, so it is generally not available online. You can also get a look at what your design would look like by doing a mock-up on the site (or you can send the design to me and the item number you're looking at in the online catalog and I will do it for you).

I hope everyone has a wonderful summer.. stay as COOL as you can (!);  and call if you'd like to know more about the possibility of embroidery as embellishment, rather than SCREEN-PRINTING..  I think, when you add it all up, you would be surprised at the pricing!
Best wishes..

Great point Anne - there can be many benefits to both screenprinting and embroidery; I find my clients have different needs depending on the item being printed,as well as the use of the garment, bag, hat.

Screenprinting can be a good choice for large quantity, one color, one location designs; on a typical t-shirt, the cost can be $5.00 per shirt.

Embroidery is the usual choice for professionals, sales staff and polo, tailored shirts.

I will be sure to check out your website.
