How To Choose An Article Submission Service

You're going to waste your money.

From what I have seen on the first 20 pages of Google when I search for an "article submission service."  It's disappointing, yet at the same time exciting.  As an SEO expert and veteran, I know why you are searching for an article submission service.

First of all, you don't want to spend the time it takes to submit your articles to all the great directories there are.  The fact is, you could be spending your time doing something that makes your business more money, than sitting there doing a simple task such as submitting articles.

But, where to submit to?  It seems every article submission service I have looked at submits to 100s or 1,000s of article directories.  Does that really do you any good?

Think about it for a second.  What most companies I have found offer is a bulk submission.  But, if you simply submit your article hundreds or thousands of times, you could be marked as spam.  Why?  Well, you are submitting the same content hundreds of times.  Google hates this.  Google loves unique content.

So, how do you create unique content?  Well, the simple answer is you write hundreds of unique articles.  But, what most advanced article submission services use is spinning.  Spinning usually amounts to using synonyms, or, what my company uses, writing 4 variations of each sentences.  This can create thousands of possible unique versions.  We aim for a uniqueness above 30%.  Combining both techniques will increase this even more so.

You have created thousands of versions of your same article, now can you submit it to the article directories?

No, don't waste your time or money.

What you are submitting to won't help your business rank higher.  In fact, 99% of the directories you submit to will never see the light of day on Google.

Why?  Because of their PageRank.  Just because you submit it to a site, and the site publishes it, does not mean Google will ever find it, or if it does find it find it relevant enough to put it on the first 1,000 pages.  Do you think a link from an article buried 1,000 pages deep is going to benefit your site?  No, absolutely not.

What you need is backlinks from high PR sites.  Sites like (taken directly from the list of sites I use) zimbio.com, wordpress.com, hubpages.com, wikispaces.com and more.  Publishing your content on these sites can not only generate traffic themselves, but can also rank well on the search engines themselves.

So, why don't most article submission services offer submission to these sites?

Because it takes actual work to get content on these sites.  Instead of copy and paste, you have to worry about creating tags, themes, creating accounts, activating them and more.  It's not a one step process like most of the article submission sites.  Which is probably why Google does not rank these sites well.

There's no hope?  Well, of course there is hope.  There are article submission services that provide the necessities for proper link building.

Look for these key features
  • Based in a native English speaking country:  I know this sounds ridiculous, but I don't know how many times I have gotten an article written, or a service performed where written English is involved and it comes off as unnatural.  It may be grammatically correct and spell checked, but it just doesn't sound right.
  • Does not offer 250+ Submissions:  More than 250 submissions can get your website marked as spam.  Keep your submissions consistent, but focus on quality not quantity.
  • Only use services that will openly show you their site list.  Any service that knows they are offering a good service will show you exactly every site they submit to.
  • Must have a spinning service:  Unless you spin the articles on your own, and they support your spinning, they MUST spin your article.
  • Realize the potential of video marketing.  Video sites usually rank very well in Google, get your article converted into a simple video.
  • Show proof of work.  They must offer a report on links or sites created.
  • Bulk discounts:  Because we know that once you start using an article submission service, you will fall in love.  Make sure you can save money in the future.
Good luck everyone, and happy marketing!
