ATTENTION POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS: For the past 5 years my business life has been intruded upon. Very much like Identity Theft. You've all heard of Personal Identity Theft, I feel like I'm dealing with Business Identity Theft.
I can no longer feel I'm competing with just the other contractors in the area. I AM NOW COMPETING WITH MY OWN BUSINESS REPUTATION.-- I have been COMPETING WITH MYSELF FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS. How sad is this that someone cannot start a business without infringing on my company's hard earned work to establish a solid business reputation that Borrasso Landscaping has sole rights to.
A family member took the fact that his last name was the same and felt Entitlement to the use of his last name and is using it in the Landscape/Hardscape Construction field, the same field as I. This company is offering the same types of work as I and is operating his business less then a mile from my business. Is advertising in the same places I am.
He is using the name Borrasso in his company name, which is legally his last name---BUT NOT in the business world of Landscape/Hardscape Construction in this Area, where for the past 34 years was EARNED and Owned by my late husband and myself and known now as Borrasso Landscaping, Maria A. Borrasso. My late husband and I started this business with a dream, a seed and worked very hard to build it to today's reputation.
Two Borrasso company's in a mile radius is causing tremendous confusion to the customers, etc. The name Borrasso is well known in this field and that's all the majority of people see is the name "BORRASSO" when they see an ad, etc.. Most assume it's the same company, It is Not. Borrasso Landscaping has no affliation with this other Borrasso company. They are 2 Separate Company's with 2 Separate Owners and 2 Separate checkbooks--- with one common well known name "BORRASSO".
Unless you see my Picture in the Ads in the Pennysaver, etc. or the phone number 724-327-6477 then you are not dealing with Borrasso Landscaping started in 1977. My trucks are Red. The other company does not use his name as Owner in his advertising- thus causing more confusion.
Thank you for your time! Have a Great Day!

I know the economy is not the greatest today. But in my opinion, The Media Drama has made it worst then it is. I was sick one day and didn't work. I was lying on the sofa watching the news. On top of being physically sick, I am now very depressed and anxious- literally feeling a sense of PANIC after hearing the Drama the news media had to say about the ecomony being Soooo bad. After getting over the panic I felt, I literally outloud told them to Shut the H Up!..
I thought it's no wonder, everyone is holding on to their money and afraid to live. No Wonder! is putting it mildly...The Media is Greating PANIC! Oh My God, after listening to the news I was afraid to buy a pizza.
I'm 61 years old, I lived thru alot of good times and bad times. The keyword is to Live. A lot of what you hear about this company and that company filing bankruptcy is a loop hole for Big Business to start over. They have an excuse to wipe the debt slate clean and have the taxpayers pick up the tab. I'm not saying the Economy is not having a problem. What I am saying is Stop! Listening to the Drama that's going on with the Media and Politicals.
Did anyone notice, that the ecomony went bad during an Election Year!!!! Remember how High Gas prices were! Election Year always Brings Problems...politically made problems.l
LQQK, with no one making loans, buying houses, cars- with no one spending money. With Money not Circulating---The Economy Will get Worse. Live your life, all you have is Now-- no one is guaranteed tomorrow or the next minute. Stop living in Fear. There's enough Stress in everyday Life without adding to it. Don't tighten the belt so tight to where you can't breathe.
Just My Opinion,
CREDENTIALS, Senior Citizen

I recently spoke to a potential customer of which her and her husband were left with an unfinished job by a Contractor who gave them the Lowest Bid.
They hired a contractor to do backyard excavating on a hilltop to entend their yard. The job consisted of excavating the back hill to extend their backyard living space. To install Boulder Walls, Drains, Waterfall, Pond, Lighting, Hot Tub on the hillside, etc. etc.
The contractor started the job in Dec. 2008...bad time to do this kind of job. But he didn't care. The contract price was $ 30,000.00 of which he took 1/2 down of $ 15, 000.00 and part way into the job, requested another
$ 5,000.00. That's a total of $ 20,000.00 paid by the customer to the contractor- out of a $ 30,000.00 unfinished job.
In his contract he had a clause that was somewhat like this: The contractor is not responsible for any damages to the driveway, patio, walkways, etc. while running heavy equipment over them. He also stated that he would do his best to not damage anything, but in the event that he did>> The Homeowner was responsible for damages for he was Not taking responsiblity for any damages he caused.
Well, he damaged the concrete driveway putting a huge crack in it with running his heavy equipment up and down without protecting the driveway. They plowed the Bobcat into the existing concrete patio, removing a huge section of it. Now if that's not bad enough. He decided to pull part of the patio away from the house using the Bobcat... But the patio was rebarred into the house. When he pulled on the concrete pad he pulled the rebar out of the house causing damage to the house. This Contractor now tells the homeowner - to make good on the damaged concrete patio he would put a 2A Modified Base down next to the left over concrete patio for a total of $ 500.00. (He damages the patio and charges the customer????????)
He told the homeowners that he would install Omni-Stone Pavers over the partial concrete patio and 2A Modified Base for an additional $ 18,000.00. Of Which He Later Changed his mind on doing the Omni-Stone and the homeowner called us, Borrasso Landscaping. (Omni-Stone cannot be laid on a partial chewed up concrete patio and water logged 2A Base)
If this wasn't bad enough, he walked off the job, leaving the homeowner with an unfinished project. He didn't finish the pond or install the Hot Tub, Etc. They have water problems, cracked driveway, 1/2 demolished concrete patio, damaged house when he Pulled the rebar out of the house. He damaged the street in front of her house with his equipment. He sends them email that he did $ 5,000.00 worth of extra work on his own that he now wants paid for. Until he gets the $ 5,000.00 and the Balance of the Contract that he has no intentions of finishing the job. The contractor also threatened them with court. Again I say WOW<<< He has Nerve.
Oh regarding the Hot Tub, Did I mention he was installing a Hot Tub on a Hillside on top of a 2A Modified Base. Again I say WOW<<<<<< Visualize this, on this hillside- on top of this 2A Base- is the Weight of the Hot Tub, the Weight of the Water and the Weight of the People in it. No Way is a 2A Base going to handle that kind of weight on a hillside. That hot tub would have slid down that hill with the people in it.
The couple feels like many of us do when someone takes advantage of us. They feel Stupid. They are not stupid, just too trusting. They didn't check the contractor out. They went with the lowest bid, thinking they're saving money, only now it wasn't such a good deal. I truly feel for this nice couple. This contractor should be put in jail.
So folks, here's the latest but Not the Newest Contractor Scam--- They give you a bid you can't refuse. But what you don't know is. They have no intentions of finishing your job. They create problems with the homeowner giving them an excuse to walk off the job. It's all planned out. For they never intended to finish the job in the first place. They couldn't afford to finish the job with the low price they gave to the customer. So when I call them half a** contractors, that's exacting what they give you. Only half a** workmanship and Half A Job.
I suggested the homeowner to contact the Attorney General's Office and file a complaint. If the Attorney General's Office has other complaints against this contractor, they will take him to court and fine him big time. I also recommended the homeowner call the Municipality they live in and report the damages to the street the contractor caused. I also suggested they call Channel 4 "Call To Action". Let the public beware of this ScamArtist.
My heart goes out to these very nice homeowners who Did Not deserve to be ripped off. Nobody does. I hope the Attorney General's Office makes this contractor accountable to the homeowners for the damages and money he caused them.
Remember, Buyer Beware! If it Sounds Too Good To Be True, It Is~ You Only Get What You Pay For ~
No More, No Less. No Company is going to give you Quality for a Low Price? They can't afford to and You Can't Afford to Hire Them and Later Hire Another Company to Finish What They Didn't --Plus The Damages to the Existing Concrete Driveway, Existing Concrete Patio and the Damages to the house when they pulled out the rebar.
Listen, Learn, Compare Jobs, Not Prices. Check out the Contractor's Credentials Thoroughly. For what you save in the contract you might be paying 50 times that later.
