Relax and Unwind in Blue Ridge Georgia

Looking for that perfect getaway so you can relax and forget about all the stress in your life? Consider making plans to visit Blue Ridge, Georgia, where you will delight in seeing the beautiful lakes and the awesome mountains. It was given this name because of how, when you see it from a distance, it gives the appearance of being a bluish color. The exact location of this wonderful mountain town happens to be in Fannin County, Georgia and is around 90 miles north from Atlanta, GA, nestled between the Chattahoochee National Forest and the Cohutta Wilderness Area.  Blue Ridge has it all, from a wide range of outdoor activities, including mountain biking, sailing, hiking, rafting, horseback riding and fly fishing, to numerous superb places to eat and shop at.
There are plenty of galleries and shops right on the main street of Blue Ridge, such as the High Country Art&Antique; that has about 1,000 pieces of regional and local artists' original artwork, Multitudes Gallery that has hand blown glass available for purchase that was created by artists who are recognized nationally, and Turning Leaf Gallery that offers great wood works of art. This town is flowing with lots of energy and you will feel that when you are there.
When it comes to great places to dine, there are many. Serenity Garden, Great Eats, Victorian Tea Room and Lindsey's Malt Shop are all right on the main street. The Toccoa Riverside Restaurant and Cross Creek Grille are only a short distance from town and you will enjoy the view of the river while dining on the freshly caught trout. Blue Jeans Pizza and Pasta Factory was recently opened for dining and the tomato sauce they serve is always homemade and so tasty.
More than 50,000 people come to the Blue Ridge Arts in the Park Festival that is held for two days each and every year on the weekend of Memorial Day. Another very popular attraction is the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, which is a 4-hour, 26-mile round trip train ride alongside the beautiful Toccoa River with a 2-hour layover in McCaysville. The Blue Ridge Adventure Race is the biggest triathlon event around and takes place every April.
An almost 3,300-acre lake known as Lake Blue Ridge offers more than 100 total miles of shoreline that are, for the most part, totally for the public to use. Throughout the area that surrounds this lake, you will find lots of boat ramps, designated picnic and swimming areas, campsites and a full-service marina.
Due to the central locality of Blue Ridge, exploration of the entire mountain region of North Georgia is easily possible. You just might not want to leave once you have been here for a while.  It will be so easy to forget about the stress of your everyday life. Come to Blue Ridge and have a fabulous time making great memories and, most importantly, relaxing! If you want to stay in the historic downtown area you can rent a well kept secret, the Blue Ridge Penthouse Suite.
