Hey Folks,We just got back from a fun business trip to the 2009 SEMA show.  Many products and vehicles were on display, but we always seem focus in on Cherokee's, Grands and Full Size Jeeps!  Check out the small list below for some of the cool vehicles we spotted:

How many times would you like a little more room under the hood for an engine swap or maybe a little more ventilation for your 4.0L stroker?  
Maybe your looking for a way to have the hood stay up by itself and not fight to find that pesky little metal rod.  It sounds ridiculous, but I've seen many times people's vehicles will stop in the most precarious positions like on a side hill coming out of a water hole?  Try lifting the hood on a 15 degree slope standing on a wet bumper as smoke gets in your eyes as you try to find that little metal rod....   Very Frustrating!

Well, we have two products you may find very interesting.  We have an all steel  cowl induction hood and an automatic hoodlift.  Yes you read right, we have a nice all steel cowl induction hood that can be used along with the hoodlift.  The hood lift has gas shocks, so you just pop the hood and release the latch.  No more fighting or dropping the hood on your head or hands.

Best part is, both of these items are bolt-on's and can be done in a matter of about an hour.

The Penns Woods Jeep Jamboree USA event is now over and the road trip back to NJ is complete.  In total, we drove over 750 highway miles and slightly over 7 miles of offroad trails.  It had rained all week long so mud, clay, steep hill climbs and large rocks presented some challenges but our ZJ worked great all weekend long.
We signed up for the two hardest trails (Red and Black) to challenge the ZJ and it worked GREAT!  There were

A little info about our Ultimate Adventure ZJ:
Our 98 Grand Cherokee ZJ starts with a 4.5" lift and uses JKS adjustable control arms stretched 3" in the rear and 1.5" in the front along with a set of Iceland Offroad cut-out fender flares to keep the tires from mangling the unibody.  To protect the underside, there is a Rusty's gas tank skid along with a transfer case skid and a set of weld-on front control arm skids which accompany the KOR rock sliders.  The 4.0L inline 6 cylinder engine turns a set of 35" KM2's and when traction is an issue we keep the tires turning with a Detroit true-trac in the front Dana 30 and an ARB air locker in the Dana 35 with 30 spline axles and a Superior axle truss.  If we do get stuck, we can always count on our Smittybuilt XRC 8 winch that's mounted to an Iceland Offroad bumper, which is one of the slickest Offroad bumpers on the market.  The 4.56 gears keep the ZJ running with almost stock-like power making it a pleasure to drive on and offroad.

Driving to Bradford Pa:
The drive to Bradford, Pa. in our UA-ZJ started with a turn onto route 78 west, then onto route 80 where we turned north to route 84 and then to route 17/86 which leads through some nice road scenery in PA and NY.  It took us 400 miles to get to Bradford on the way out and the jeep rode superbly.  At the stated speed limit of 65mph or was that 75mph, I can't recall...details, details, details!!   The jeep drove great, the tires were quiet and there was not even the slightest hint of any front end wobble.  I honestly drove it with 1 finger on the wheel at highway speeds even passing people and was really impressed at the way it handled.  The 4.56 gears made such a difference on the long haul as the jeep just motored up the hills without shifting and redlining like it used to.  I checked the gas mileage and was only 3 mpg below STOCK!  When this was new it was getting about 17 mpg and now were at 14 mpg! 

Yes folks, were talking about a lifted jeep on 35's getting 14 mpg!  That's what overdrive plus cruise control will do for you.

On the way home we decided to snake down to Route 80 and spend 5 hours (350 miles) on that route.  That is one of the dullest roads in america.  I could have been driving in Siberia and it would have been more entertaining and probably more scenic.  It did cut about an hour of time off our overall trip, but it seemed like a longer route. 

Still, there is a certain zen about being one with the jeep.  I can tell you first hand that spending 5 days driving your favorite jeep at least 5+ hours a day on a variety of conditions will either become an almost religious experience or simply drive you crazy.  The UA-ZJ did everything we asked of it and did it in style and comfort!  There was no wind noise from a soft top, no issues with freeze cracks in the road, no issues with handling, and no issues with the many people who gave us THUMBS UP on the highway.

This was a great adventure and I recommend people take their family's and friends for a fun offroad adventure like this.  It not only gives you time with your jeep, but also some quality time with your family.  If you build your rig with quality parts you'll have years of trouble free service.

XJ, ZJ Roll Cages are HERE!!

Everyone loves a lifted unibody Cherokee or Grand Cherokee because in our opinion they look better then any other jeep on the road!  A small lift can yield a very capable jeep and we know you love challenges, especially hard challenges.  However, safety can never be overlooked especially in a long wheelbase rig that has a unibody.  If you have ever seen a unibody rig that has flipped on it's lid, you know the roof crumples in like an old beer can.  We have some great solutions to keep you safe and prevent unnecessary damage at the same point.

A roll cage for your Cherokee XJ or Grand Cherokee ZJ is the best option if your really doing some tough wheeling.  It not only stiffens the unibody, but provides some necessary extra support for the roof.  Let's also not forget that with a cross bar just behind the drivers and passengers seat, the use of a 5 point racing harness can be used to keep you planted in the seat should anything go south!

Let's not forget the ZJ's out there.  We have the new front axle flange spacer available which enables the newer WJ brakes (2 piston style) to be used on a ZJ.  This provides much better braking which is important when you put on heavy tires and load your jeep down with skid plates and armor.  We also have a few options for you when it comes to Trackbar Conversions and steering upgrades!  Check out many of our ZJ items at the link below...
