The emails we receive from our own domain name, as well as from our clients, show the same scam going on for years with different wording and a different twist. If you own your own website, and have a brand associated with that name, you are open prey for these email scams. With so many different countries having their own suffix, you find yourself in a position where it's no longer just ".com", but also ".net" ".co.uk" ".co.nz" and the list just keeps growing. The list (below) shows just a few of the many emails we have received in the last couple of years. We have removed our domain names (and customer's domain names) and placed "your domain name inserted here".

We have just completed another EMR / PPM implementation for a medical practice in Webster, Texas. The software solution implemented is a stimulus ready solution.

Federal stimulus will become available to medical practices in 2011. The Federal Government took over certification and released the requirements on December 30, 2009.
Medical practices will need to demonstrate "meaningful use" and receive Medicare reimbursements of $24,000 or greater per doctor in 2011 in order to be eligible to receive the full stimulus reimbursement. The payout is over a 5 year period, beginning the first year the medical practice demonstrates "meaningful use".  

Storing patient paper records can be costly. From a records management and maintenance point of view, the resources needed to maintain, file, store, and index patient files add up quickly. These hidden costs never get accounted for on the books. Records management can be more efficient; converting records to an electronic format reduces costs as well as expedites the accessing of patient records. An added benefit is the ability to send information quickly, i.e. an emergency, and the ability to have patient history at the click of a mouse. The federal government has established a grant to educate consumers on electronic health records. There is a national effort to inform consumers and providers alike about the importance of privacy and security in using electronic health records. A goal of 2014 has been established by the federal government for all Americans to have electronic health records. Electronic health record conversion is still in the early stage.
