LoJack vs. Data Encryption

Think again!  This system is advertised by third parties as a " theft-protection service" that can track, locate and recover stolen laptops. If your laptop is ever stolen, simply alert LoJack’s monitoring center and a recovery team can work with the local law enforcement to recover it. These remote "data destruction tools" gives users and small businesses a false sense of security and we advise our clients to implement data encryption methods and bypass this service unless you use it for physical recovery only.  A data breach at Blue Cross this year proves our point.
