Edison State College, Lee Campus plans to open a Collegiate High School in the Fall of 2010.

The Board of Trustees, Tuesday, June 23, 2009, unanimously voted in favor of moving forward with plans to open a Charter High School for grades 9 through 12.

"We have designed the high school to have a real purpose and a real meaning so we add value to the community," said Noreen Thomas, Lee Campus president and Edison State College district executive vice president. "At Edison's Collegiate High School, students will have the opportunity to complete the requirements for a high school diploma and an associate degree simultaneously."

The high schools will provide an honors-level curriculum for all students with an emphasis on STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

"Edison's Collegiate High School will be a great option for students and parents who are willing to be dedicated to a rigorous academic program," said Dr. Robert Beeson, Vice President the Lee Campus at Edison State College.  "We will meet with every family to prepare a ‘GOLD' [Goal Oriented Learning Document] academic plan for each student."
