Looking for a weekend getaway that's not too far from home? Check out the Clewiston Inn, located about 60 miles east of Fort Myers on the shore of Lake Okeechobee in the heart of South Florida's sugar cane country. Clewiston has been billed as, "America's Sweetest Town".

The Inn is a beautifully restored classical revival that blends country elegance with modern comfort. You'll find plenty of southern charm and hospitality here and feel at home in one of their 57 guest rooms or suites.

It was built back in 1926 by the U.S. Sugar Corporation (then called Southern Sugar) to host company executives and visiting dignitaries. It was rebuilt in 1938 after being destroyed in a fire. The Clewiston Inn is now registered as a National Histroric Site and is a popular vacation destination with it's genuine Old Florida history and hospitality.

The Inn's infamous Everglades Lounge features an impressive 360 degree mural of the flora and fauna of the Florida Everglades. It was painted in the early 1940s by world-renowned artist J. Clinton Shepard. The Lounge is open every day from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 10pm except for Sundays; they are only open from 11am to 2pm.
