Most of our clients come to us already knowing a bit about SEO, and just looking for a good SEO company to form the strategy and handle the work for them.  But occasionally we get the question - what is SEO?

SEO stands for search engine optimization.  In a nutshell, it refers to the half-art, half-science of getting your website prominent exposure in major search engines, such as Google.

SEO also typically refers to the "organic" or natural listings, as opposed to pay-per-click or cost-per-click (aka PPC and CPC) programs like Google AdWords.  Both SEO and PPC have their pluses and minuses, and Ephricon offers assistance with both approaches.

Typically though, customers don't want SEO just to help them show up on the first page in Google.  Rather, its as part of a lead generation campaign.  They want their website to generate leads and/or sales, and search engines are simply a source of potential customers.
