This weekend I incorporated a business for one of my clients and it brought to mind that there are still hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of businesses that have not taken the time to protect themselves from work related lawsuits. If you are still operating as a sole proprietor you need to know that lawsuit settlements are going up faster than your insurance bill and we all know how fast our insurance rates are increasing.
I am not telling you something you don't already know and I know that not too many small business owners have the money to go out and hire a lawyer to incorporate their business right now. But what's stopping you from doing yourself? Incorporation separates your personal assets from your business assets, it allows you to pay yourself a salary and pay in your social security and medicare taxes each week. I know paying taxes each week month or quarter doesn't sound like a good thing but it is so much easier to pay a small amount each week than it is to budget a 1040Es payment.
My ebook FYB's Incorporate Now helps you to understand exactly why you need to incorporate and it guides you from making the choice right straight through filing all the required documents with the registars office. The included by-laws and meeting note examples can be easily customized for your specific business. It just takes the guess work out of incorporating... And it's available 24 hours a day so you can purchase it and be on your way today.
Hesitating Today Could Mean Big Losses Tomorrow.... For $28.00 you have a guide that empowers you to Do-It-Yourself....
For Your Business's Incorporate Now is one click away....
And as always if you have questions just ask....Cheryl

Blogs are a great marketing tool and they actually allow you to speak to you customers in the first person. Being able to say I and We is such a plus when trying to make a legitimate connection with the people who need your product or services.
There are even free blogs available outside of Merchant Circle that can be utilized to discuss a unique topic beyond your normal business realm. I hope everyone looks to the future and plans each and every blog post with a smile.
A friend of mine wrote this How To and it has really helped me. Check it out when you get a chance.

I have a really great sales presentation for my bookkeeping business. It's actually proven quite successful. My product is 2 sheets of paper, so I know that's hard to believe but when I can get in front of a prospective client I have excellent results.
If you have an opportunity to get in front of a prospective client you need to be prepared to wow them in 30 minutes or less. Business to Business and service provider sales are so scarce right now it's important to prepare, prepare some more and smile. Don't forget the smile.
For some tips on preparing a Sales Presentation That Sells check out my eHow Article by following the link above.
Thanks,
Cheryl

Business owners everywhere are looking to make additional money right now. Sales and profit margins are still down and will likely stay that way for a while yet but the utility companies don't seem to care...
One of the ways I have found to supplement my income online is by writing articles online. They not only bring traffic and possible customers to my web site, when I write for a revenue sharing site I receive income from the site via the companies that advertise there. It's definitely a win-win for me. You should give it a try. We all know how to do something that someone wants to know and making money online even just as a side job is fun.
You can check out my articles on eHow. AllFYB on eHow. Believe me when I say I'm not making millions but the work isn't hard and the revenue is enough for groceries...
I'm hoping that you find something that helps you with your business and as always if you have questions you only need to ask.

Don't just ask for a credit-reference--- use it
Sound Silly? Companies too often think that a prospect is creditworthy simply because it provided references. Or they feel that "checking up" isn't nice. Or they are uncomfortable asking strangers detailed questions about someone else's business. Make sure your credit application or other signed document gives you permission to contact references.
Three basics to include are:
1. “How recent was your latest transaction with this firm?” If it wasn’t within the last four months, the information may not be of great value because your customer’s financial position may have changed materially.
2. “Are the references related to the prospect in any way?” This may be difficult to assess, since people may lie. Use your instincts to decide how accurate the answer is and whether to probe further.
3. “Would you consider this firm a good, slow, or bad payer?” Talking to a few references now can save you months of stonewalling down the road.
