Ice Damming-How to prevent, and maintain.
Are you tired of shoveling the snow off of your roof? Are you tired of paying someone to do it? Have you had leaks? Any interior damage? Well, check in periodically as we will be posting tips on how to prevent ice damming.
1. Make sure that your attic is vented properly: Soffit vents-they do not work without a ridge vent or gable vents. It is best to have all three. Keep that air circulating. Your attic should be cold in the winter. You should not insulate your roof. Do not heat your attic. Taking these steps will dramatically improve the "freeze and thaw" that we get in the winter time.

Decra Roofing is resistant to the freeze-thaw cycle. It's non-porous surface will not allow moisture to penetrate, therefore making it very difficult for ice to form on the edges of your roof.
