When we first opened up several patients presented to the office with variable acute and chronic injuries in the neck, back , shoulders and hips. Upon performing a history it was revealed that in many cases the only relavant causitive factor was a prior or recent auto accident in which the patient did not feel that they we injured or mildy injured. Pain syndromes and dysfunction can present days, weeks, months (hopefully not) but sometimes even years later. It is essential to examine and treat injuries as soon as possible to prevent scar tissue formation and degeneration. it sounds like you should have an examination. if you are local in the new haven area you can reach my office at 203-248-7200. if you are not local i would schedule a visit with a chiropractor for exam purposes.

so i was in a car accident where i was tboned on the passenger side and then fishtaailed and hit a stationary car to my left and was bounced like a png pong back and forth. I was going 40 mph and she was at a stop sign and just darted out and hit me.Mind you i was in a pontiac 02 and she was driving aa 99 suburban. A bus compared to mine, anywho initially i felt muscle pain in my neck nad the thoracic area of my back. I was checked out at the er and had an xray of my neck and nothing showed. Two days after the middle of my back has this sharp intermittent type pain. It comes and goes. When i touch my back its a little tender. Its been 6 days since the accident and seems like in getting worse neveryday. im a nurse on a physical rehab unit and do physical work all day. im a former narcotic addict and dont want to take any narcs for pain and ibuprofens tear up my stomach but i got to take something. The is uncomfortable and its like a scraping feeling i guess. What do you think?
There are injuries that can occur that cannot always be seen on plain film xray sometimes motion xray (vf) or flexion/extension films are needed to see if and where fixations occur. From you decription of the accident you should be examined by a chiropractor and and will most likely require some physical rehab as well in conjunction with Chiropractic care. Hi, i was in a minor car accident ( really minor- but i was in the middle car - i was hit in the back then i hit a car in front of me- we were driving maybe 15mph ).
So for 2 days i didn't feel anything but then i started feeling some discomfort in my neck where the scalp and the neck connect and in the middle back section.
Do you think that although it was a minor accident i may need some medical procedures?
