DUI Suspect Flees Police and Tells Police to Shoot Him

    Posted 08:06 AM March 27, 2009

Alpharetta GA police were involved in a dramatic high speed chase overnight.  The incident began when police tried to pull over Thomas Lackey at about 1:45 am. Lackey did not stop for officers and Lackey took officers on a high speed chase with speeds reaching more than 130 mph.  Lackey was heading the wrong way down a street when he hit a police car then hit a tree in the median.  Once Lackey got out of the car he started yelling at police to shoot him.  Officers tasered him and placed him under arrest for driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding police, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and multiple traffic violations.

    Happy Mardi Gras

    Posted 04:01 PM February 20, 2009

With the Mardi Gras season in full effect on the Alabama Gulf Coast we hope that everyone has a great time but it is important to be safe and responsible.  Drink responsibly and if you intend to have a few adult beverages call a cab or have get disgnated driver.  A DUI charge and/or a night in jail will really put a damper on the festivities.

Time period for AL District/Municipal Appeal

    Posted 08:09 AM February 04, 2009

We have had quite a few people call lately about appealing an AL district court or municipal court case.  Many of those people waited until after the time period expired to call, so I thought I would write a quick post on this matter. If you have been convicted of a crime or violation in an Alabama Municipal Court or Alabama District Court and wish to appeal that conviction, you must act quickly because you only have fourteen (14) days to perfect your appeal and seek a new trial in the Circuit Court.  If you wish to have a jury trial on your appeal you must affirmatively indicate on the appeal form that you want a jury trial; otherwise you will be given a trial by another judge.  If you have any questions contact one of our attorneys.
