Carpets that look great also last longer

And, it’s not as hard as you think! These few little things can go a long way to help keep your carpets looking good and lasting longer.

Entrance mats – 75% of the soils in your carpet are tracked-in soils. Using entrance mats inside and outside of doorways will reduce the amount soils tracked onto your carpet.

Vacuuming – Nothing is more important for maintaining your carpet appearance than vacuuming. Dry soil is very abrasive and can actually damage carpet fibers.

Professional Cleaning – Have your carpets and upholstery cleaned every 6-18 months. Also have protectant reapplied every cleaning.

Clean up spills immediately – The sooner you can get to the spill, the easier it will be to remove. Never scrub, always gently blot the spill. Use a clean white absorbent cloth.

Do you know what to look for? Is it the chemicals or the type of equipment they use that makes them environmentally friendly? The answer might surprise you. Quite often, a company may boast "green" methods or detergents, but not realize that they are not really acting in a "green" manner. Take for instance a company using a proclaimed green cleaner, that due to its slower or lack of cleeaning "oomph", it takes the four times longer running a gasoline powered engine emitting exhaust fumes. So, was the company really more "green" than the other company that used a different chemical? Or another example would be a cleaner using a "green" product that requires more steps and longer production time to produce, consuming more energy and polution that producing the so called non-green chemicals. Interesting!

So, what should you look for in a company that is being eco-friendly? Well, we can eliminate thier pitches that they use greener detergents because we really just don't know that it makes a difference. What about thier methods? Are they efficient? Do they have methods that allow them to use less water, or consume less fuel? Maybe they send proposal via email and invoice electronically too. These are good methods. Encouraging less paperwork! Helps you to save time as well.

That said, don't rely on fancy "green" or "Eco-friendly" pitches and names to decide which Pressure Washing company you hire for your service provider. Those are mostly just gimmicks anyhow. Find out which company focuses on truly eliminating waste, and saves you the most time and hassle.

As a professional Roof Cleaning Company, we feel that the use of bleach is the most cost effective and time efficient method. It is just as "green" as some of the other methods or chemicals when used appropriately. The difference between Bleach that harms plants/surfaces and the bleach that does not, is the handler and the procedure in which it is used. Let's face it, laundry is cleaned safely everyday with bleach. But it also damges a few loads of laundry when mis-handled. Letting the teenage boy in the house handle the Laundry chores might not be such a good idea. This example just points out that while bleach can be harmful, it can also be used safely with proper process.
Instead of blanket statements of bleach being bad, the statement should be told differently. Perhaps the mis-use of bleach may cause undesirable effects. Perhaps we shouldn't be be discrediting the bleach but rather the handler. Be more picky about the knowledge of the contractor rather than skeptical of his detergents. I'd rather hire a contractor that used potentially hazardous chemicals/tools over a contractor pulling up in a non-descript truck with 4 different tires and needing a new muffler using the safest chems (which, by the way don't work the best) available.
So, think about this when looking for a Roof Cleaning Company in the future.
