Newer Generation Intense Pulsed Light Systems available from the office Michael Law MD www.michaellawmd.com can be the most effective treatments for unwanted dark spots or diffuse redness and splotchiness in the skin. In just one treatment many dark spots can lighten or disappear and redness and blotchiness can be replaced by a smoother more even skin tone. Most people do benefit from multiple treatments in order to provide skin with a completely evenly pigmented skin tone but the change with each treatment is dramatic.

For years, board-certified Michael Law MD and his wife, Blue Water Spa co-owner Kile Law worked with IPL systems. They saw that IPL treatments could work but until 2008 they did not find an IPL system that provided consistently effective, safe and predictable results.

The light emitted by IPL systems differs from laser light in that it is not one focused single wavelength, but covers a spectrum of different wavelengths.  Since IPL covers a spectrum of wavelengths it is able to target both redness and brown discoloration at the same time.  IPL safely and effectively can be used to treat facial or body areas to remove diffused redness, sun damage, hyper pigmentation (age spots, and freckles), and acne.  Typically 3-4 treatments are recommended but many people notice a difference even following the first treatment. 

Our IPL is a second generation (IPL) utilizing a dual filter which means the system carefully filters the light to make treatment more effective with fewer treatments needed.    This state of the art technology also makes the treatments more comfortable (no need for cooling), and safe (reducing risks of side effects).  IPL is clinically proven safe and effective.

Our LED (light emitting diode) may be combined with the IPL treatment to maximize results.
