We missed you! What a feast we all enjoyed last evening at the Living Hope Bible Church International Dinner. Rouladen and sauerbraten from Germany...fried rice and krupak from Indonesia...Polish sausages...pork adobo, poncit and lumpia from the Philippines...Senegalese chicken...oliebollen from Holland..., but...no soup, no nuts.
Everything was delicious and provided a great introduction to a report from our missionaries to Senegal. They shared some of the customs of the people group they work with and gave a visual "peek" into their lives there.
Living Hope is their sending church and we consider ourselves to be partners in their work.

It's hard to believe that there are less than two more weeks until Christmas Eve, even though we've had our first snowfall. We've been cleaning out the shed and getting ready to set up the chairs and benches for our annual service of Scripture and Christmas carols. And then...we'll light the wood stove, our neighbor Rick will bring his sheep, and we'll welcome YOU to join us as Living Hope Bible Church presents "Carols 'Round the Manger" at the Wynveen Farm.
The farm is located at N3098 County Road OO, 2 1/2 miles west of Gibbsville Cheese Factory. Everyone is welcome. There is no charge. Our time together is short and informal...just an opportunity to celebrate the birth of our Lord. Call 564-2683 if you have questions.

One of the priorities at Living Hope Bible Church is relationships. We believe that God has called His Church into a vital relationship with both Himself and with each other. On the third Sunday of each month, we meet to worship together at 9 a.m., and that is followed by a light lunch/brunch for all. It is a great time to be together and enjoy the family of God. If you are looking for a church where people do care about each other, we invite you join us this coming Sunday, September 20. And lunch is on us.

Rainbows, posies, stars, hearts, kids' names...
Children requested all that and more when they lined up to have their faces (or arms) painted yesterday at Heritage Day 2009 in Oostburg.
While we painted faces and shared the good news of Jesus for 4 hours, parents and others munched free popcorn, browsed the table of free books, or just chatted.
This year we offered free copies of the Bible, children's Bibles, Spanish new testaments, and copies of "Stranger on the Road to Emmaus" in both the English and Spanish versions.
We still have copies left, so if you were not able to pick one up yesterday and can use one, please call the church at 467-2709 to make arrangements to pick one up.

This Friday, August 14, the Village of Oostburg will celebrate Heritage Day from 4-? p.m. They'll close down Center Avenue and part of North 10th Street and invite the community to an evening of food, fellowship and fun. Members of Living Hope Bible Church will be there, too, to hand out free popcorn and do face painting for the kids.
Oostburg is located just west of I-43, between Sheboygan and Cedar Grove. We hope you'll stop in, pick up some popcorn, and say hello. Bring your family--bring a friend.

The weather at the park was a bit cool and partly sunny--perfect weather for an energetic workout with the puppets. The Living Hope Puppet People did three performances today, interspersed with free face painting, games and crafts for the kids at the 4th of July celebration at the Oostburg Village Park.
We used an entire tank of helium to inflate the ever-popular free balloons...some of which decorated the trees!
God blessed us with many opportunities to share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ...His great free gift to us.
