The LnT-Creations Method

1.) Plan.

 Have a plan and strategy prior to getting a website.  What will be the name of your website?  Your website name should relate to your business name.  In some cases a domain name may already be taken so come up with different website names, at most four different website names.  If you need assistance with coming up with a website name feel free to contact LnT-Creations, if you have not done so already, we are here to help you! 

 Also know what type of visitors you are trying to attract to your website.  Know exactly who you intend to reach with your website and what goals you would like to accomplish with your website.  For example, if you’re website is targeted to mostly older visitors then your site should not be too complicated and should be easy to browse.  We also take this into consideration and will advise you on the type of design that best fits your visitors.  Most importantly know what information you would like to appear on the site and have this information ready – Information includes both text and images.  Often clients do not have images.  Please advise us if you do not have any images for your site. 

 Other important things you should plan for are the types of features you would like to appear on your site.  This includes online order forms, contact forms, music, video, photo galleries, blogs, etc.  If you are not sure what features you would like on your site we will gladly assist you. 

 Most importantly we ask that you feel free to ask questions.  We want you to be comfortable with this process and have a good understanding with the process. 

 

2) Open Request, Contract, and Payment.

 Once you are ready to get started open up a service request online or by phone.  If you have arranged for a meeting and would like for us to design your website you do not have to worry about opening a request online or over the phone.  Once your request has been processed we will contact you to go over the request.  After we have gone over the request we will provide you with both a price for the project and a contract.  The contractual agreement is something special to both you the client and LnT-Creations.  Unlike most designers we refuse to leave you with a design and then disappear to never be heard from again.  Through the contract we, LnT-Creations, are the only company that can do maintenance work to the design that we have built for you.  Also included in the contract is an agreement on the completion date, the overall price of the project, site elements, and other legal information.  The contract expires after one year to the date signed.  If the contract is not extended after the year services with LnT-Creations will be terminated – this includes hosting, and the web design.  If the contract is extended the only payment that will be made is to extend the hosting service and name registration.  All contracts are for only 1 year.

 Two payments are made for this process.  The first payment is made prior to the designing of the project begins.  Included in the first payment is the payment for the name registration, hosting, and half the price for the total amount of the design.  The second payment is made before publishing of the completed site.  The second payment is the second half of the design payment.  After we have received the second payment the site will be published. 

 For example:
Name registration cost $8 along with $96 ($8 per month) for hosting service for the year.  If the total amount for the design is $500 then the first payment would be $354.  The second payment would only cost $250 because name registration and hosting service has already been paid for.

 

3) Collecting materials

 After we have received the first payment your name will be registered and we will upload a construction page for your site immediately.  On the construction page we will advise that the site is under construction and the date that the site will be completed and ready for viewing.  We are now ready to start collecting information, and materials to appear on the site.  What information are we looking for?  Primarily we are looking for company information, but any information that you would like to appear on the site will be helpful.  Material could include and are not limited to: information about the company (when it started, your goals, and visions as a company), photos of your business or organization, contact information, photos of your products, slogans.  The more materials for your site the better!  If you do not have any images for your site and would like images of your business on the site please advise us so we can assist.  We will also assist with coming up with slogans and bring our creative minds to the table to develop the best content for your site.

 

4) Sample site layouts

 At this stage and with your input we will have designed a few sample layouts of your website.  We will take these images and email them to you for you and your organization to critique.  Tell us what you like and what you do not like.  If you do not have email please advise us so we can make other arrangements for your viewing of the sample site layouts.  At this time if you requested LnT-Creations to design a logo for your site we will also send samples of the logos we have designed for your critiquing.  Once the field of sample layouts has been narrowed down to the one you would like to use for both your site layout and logo we will then begin fine tuning the layout of the site from your feedback.

 

5) Completion and testing.

 At this time we will now be in the final stages of the project.  The site is initially complete but we will run several of tests on the site.  These tests includes, load time test, browser compatibility, screen resolution testing, form test (this includes contact forms, order forms, feedback forms).  After we have concluded our testing we will publish your site to a test site and provide you with a link to the test site for your viewing and feedback.

 

6) Publishing of site.

 After we have received your feedback, made final adjustments, received the second payment, and received your approval we will then publish your website to your domain name.  At this time your website will be viewable to the public.  At this step your website will also go through search engine optimization.  We will submit your site to major search engines and other promotional services so that you can start to receiving viewers to your site.

 

7) LnT-Creations continued service.

 After your site is published we are not through with you yet!  We are proud of the fact that we continue to maintain all sites that we have designed.  We will continue with maintaining your site through our contractual agreement for the full year term.  Also included is your ability as a client to view the stats of your website any time you would like.    

 Server downtime.  Servers rarely go down – in most cases servers will go down because of power loss.  Servers can also be taken down for maintenance service which is done over night.  If the server is taken down for maintenance service we will advise you of this action.  If a server goes down, due to different circumstances chances are we will know this before you and contact you to advise you of the situation.  In those situations we promise to work as quickly as possible to restore services.

 We will fix all problems free of charge as stated in our contractual agreement.  Any updates you would like to make to your site are also done through LnT-Creations per our contractual agreement.  If you need an update to your site or a repair feel free to open a request ticket online, send us an email, or give us a call.  We in no way will ever abandon you and often will call you or visit you to see how everything is going and to see if there is anything else that we can do to assist you.   We will always value you, not only as a client at LnT-Creations, but as family.
