I've got a nice 1978 wide-bore Courtois trumpet (w/1st&3rd valve triggers), that still plays great but could use some cosmetic TLC (e.g. cleaning, lacquering, etc.). What $$ would I be looking at?
Sebastiaan Faber, February 02, 2012
Basic clean flush and lube with touch-up lacquer to the worn spots is about $90 - 150 depending on condition.
It is about $400 for a complete overhaul, including stripping, chemical flush, minor dent removal, polishing to a mirror finish and lacquer - $150 more for bright silver plating. Bring it in for a more accurate estimate.

Hello, I have a trumpet I would like cleaned up. It doesn't have to be restored to playing condition but the valves and slides are all stuck and the brass is tarnished. About how much would that cost?
Emily Johnson, December 15, 2011
Your trumpet needs to have the stuck slides "pulled" and then a chemical/soap bath to remove corrosion and gunk - a Clean, Flush and Lube. Basic cost is $75. Silver polish is $50 more. Minor dent work, corks and felts are included. A final estimate will be given upon hands on inspection here at Moore Music Repair. Cosmetics are always an option to be considered. Thanks for the interest. Let me know how I can help

How much does it cost to get a flute fully cleaned?
Anonymous, September 29, 2011
Hello, To "fully clean..." a flute, it needs to be totally taken apart and all pads and corks/felts need to be removed. Unfortunately this job becomes a complete repad / recork which costs between $240 and $400 depending on type of flute.
Fortunately we can do a pretty thorough cleaning without having to remove pads and corks/felts. Cost starts at $50 for removing keys and cleaning to body. Refitting the tenons, regulation, any pad or cork replacement or dents are extra on an as needed basis.
