Stone is a natural solid formation of one or many minerals. There are thousand types of stone that have been quarried thoughout the centuries. Quarries are located all around the world. A majority of natural stone comes from Italy, Spain, Turkey, United States, Mexico, China, Taiwan, India, Greece, Canada, France, and Brazil.
Although both granite and marble were created deep within the earth millions of years ago, the processes that formed them were quite different.
Granite is an igneous rock, which means that at one time during its development, it was melted like volcanic lava. Unlike lava, however, this melted (or molten) rock never reached the surface. It remained trapped inside the earth, where it slowly cooled and crystallized, resulting in a very uniform, speckled stone that ranges in color from black and gray tones to pinks, browns, reds, greens and white.
Marble is a metamorphic rock. It was once limestone, but over time, the combination of intense heat and pressure caused the limestone to re-crystallize. Foreign substances often entered the stone during this process, creating an infinite variety of colors, textures and veining. Marble is a lot like people; no two are exactly alike.
2. Granite Facts
Since all granites are made by nature, no two are the same and all slabs should be reviewed and approved for each project.

What homeowner doesnt want to save money on heating and cooling costs? I have been interested in ways to improve home efficiency since 1980 when I began to plan and design my own home. Since that time materials have improved yet in some ways we are no further ahead than we were in 1980.
I joined the Energy Star Homes program in 2002 and have build single family and multifamily homes in our area. I have received an achievement award from the Energy Star program for outstanding homes recieving 5 out of a possible 5 stars for efficiency.
Existing homes can be retrofitted to improve energy efficiency and I am happy to consult with homeowners interested in improving their homes. Any new home plan can be adapted to energy star standards. But impletmenting this not only will you save money on utility bills you will also increase the resale value of your home but up to 30% above a traditionally constructed home.
I am happy to meet with you to discuss your home project and provide free estimates. I take a genuine interest in all my customers by providing a superior job in a timely manner. My work ethic is unsurpassed!
