I am now starting to do my business full time in Masonville instead of part time. I am hoping to gain more clients.

March certainly came in like a lion down here at the store. The electrical feed to the building exploded Saturday morning, which could have been catastrophic under different circumstances. HUGE thanks to Ron Sherman, who happened to see the electricity arcing, the awesome Masonville Fire Dept. and EMT, and NYSEG for their speed and capability. The situation was quickly under control, and the store was back open Sunday. Apologies to any customers that made the trip only to find us closed that day, and gratitude for all the good wishes and concern. We are thankful to be surrounded by such great neighbors!

We love the Walton Theatre! A committed group of folks have worked hard to bring the building back to its original grandeur, AND bring great live music to our neck of the woods. Now you can buy tickets here at the store.
This Saturday, February 7, Amy Gallatin and Stillwaters will be playing at 7:30. Amy is at home singing various musical styles -- country, folk, bluegrass or western swing. If you like Patsy Kline, Emmy Lou Harris, Sean Colvin, or Alison Kraus, you'll likely enjoy this group. According to NPR’s Valley folk: “clear, true singing, clean sweet playing, great song choices…what more can you ask for?”
As an added bonus, Danny’s restaurant is offering free dessert with minimum $9.95 dinner when concert ticket is presented (tickets to concert also available at restaurant).
See you there!

Living in Harmony with the Seasons with Herbs as Food and Foods as our Best Medicine
Nurse-Herbalist, Marguerite Bower explains which foods balance and nourish us for this in-between time as summer transitions into early fall. Some of us note this as a peaceful and tranquil time of summer where activity seems to slow in the lazy heat, yet traditionally this is a busy time of the year. A time of harvest where we collect, preserve and store foods for the winter months ahead.
In this class we'll discuss which foods and herbs support our internal organs responsible for optimal nutrient transportation and assimilation. Food preparations to be demonstrated, with recipes: a congee gruel for when we're sick, a supportive immune soup, a jelly for the common cold, a heart healthy jam, and a traditional monk juice that will chase away any germ.
If there's time, we'll have a show and tell on which local seeds and grains we can use for flours with a how to on collection, garbling and storing.
Regain and re-balance for the winter months ahead. Late summer’s Earth element begs us to prepare for this transition, the time between our outward (active) and inward (slowing down) rhythms.
$10- Pre-registration requested as class size is limited
