All I hear is laws makers wanting to write down the value of homes and then write a new mortgage.
This is a bad idea in many ways.
Think of the US as a business you want to invest in from China or somewhere else. How much would you want to invest in that company if they told you in advance they were thinking about writing down the value of your stock by 30%????
Now think about the US's economic engine for the last 15 years being the equity in us real estate anf you have a recipe for disaster if law makers get their way
