    New Auction Site at pulpfictionportal.com

    Posted 08:08 PM January 08, 2009

I have just set up a auction plugin for my pulp fiction/Newton/MagicCap site, and wanted to offer it to the general public as a totally -free- alternative to some of the bigger commercial sites. It is free to list, free to bid, and auctions can be set to run as long as you wish instead of just 1/3/7 days. The costs for me are not that large, and I am hoping that the advertising banners on my site will cover the expenses. So lets let this grand experiment go and see how it ends up!

While I want to focus the auctions of pulp fiction & Newton PDAs I am open to having other categories, just ask!

    New Portal Launch

    Posted 06:14 AM May 10, 2008

In the next few days I will be switching the portal to a new Joomla-based portal. If you have just recently registered you will have to register again as I already exported the user table and imported it into the new portal. The passwords can't be imported however since they are stored in a different format than Joomla uses, so you will have to use the "lost password" recovery in the new portal to reset what you want for your password.

One of the new features is that I will be merging the current webstore into the same portal so that there will no longer be a seperate store URL.

Ultimately all the URLs will point to the same location, but for now the URL to the new portal is http://pulpfictionportal.com/.

    New Contest

    Posted 08:23 PM April 13, 2008

Ok, so the last contest was a bust - I guess nobody wanted to put up a review of their favorite pulp story. So for now the prize (the 4gb SDHC flash card with pulps preloaded on it) will go to the first person to be in chat mode when I am also in it. Lets see if this goes a little better than the last one.
