    What's New with Sue-window washer!

    August 18, 2008

Hi, it's Monday.  I am still working on the Allendale mansion painting, but progressing slowly.  On Friday, my son Matt joined me for the last hour I was open at the Studio.  You got to know Matt, if I don't keep him busy, he will just get into everything.  He is a very "hands on " kind of guy.  Well, I put him to work.  I had him wash my windows at the Studio.  He worked pretty hard sponging and squeeging (is that a word?) my windows.  I have to say, he did do a pretty good job.  Next thing you know, he is going to expect to be on the payroll!

I will take tomorrow off from the Lincoln mural as I need to get ready for my brother and sister-in-law's baby shower that is going to be held at my house.  There is a lot of cleaning and preparation that needs to be done to get this shin-dig off and going.  My other sister-in-law, Loren, will be coming over and we will put our head together to get this all worked out.  So needless to say, there wont be much painting of murals happening tomorrow.

Well, I will try to post again on Friday, hopefully then the Allendale Mansion painting will look more complete.  I need to finish this one so I can get the next commission started.  It will be a portrait of a little girl looking up a drain pipe.  It is a cute photo I have to work from.  It should be a fun painting to do.  Until Friday, here are some pictures of Matt cleaning my windows.  Have a good week and stay tuned

    Sue

Look at that kid work!  Notice  Matt's portrait in the window just over his head!  Ha,

Allendale is still in the "blocking in" stage.  I will work on it more today and get my perspective right.  The mansion looks a little "pinched" in perspective at this time, but I will work out all the bugs.  I just got to keep putting down paint and ironing out all the wrinkles.  It will come.  Just stay tuned.  Know that this painting will be made into prints and it will be able to be purchased through me or through the Friends of  Allendale.  This will be one of their fundraisers to keep this historic Landmark going.
