"Underbid" is a word that strikes horror into the hearts of legitimate professional carpet and tile cleaners.  It seems like everyday we see a coupon advertising “too good to be true” pricing for carpet and tile cleaning.  You’ve seen the ads; an entire house of carpet cleaned for $60 or $9.95 a room.  How do these company’s stay in business considering the high cost of fuel, labor, taxes, insurance, maintenance, chemical cost, etc.?  The answer is simple; they will NEVER deliver a thorough cleaning at these prices, PERIOD.  Many of these company’s rely on “bait and switch” tactics and some have been known to intimidate customers once they get in their home to try to extract higher prices.

Two years ago, we lost a client who put more than $60,000.00 a year into our bank account. The next year, both our gross profit and net profit margins were up. Looking back over the years, it seems that every time we lost an account to one of those bait and switch companies’s, our business was better the following year. The precise reason was that we never lowered our charge to compete with those bait & stitch carpet cleaners. This allowed us to maintain the high quality of our service and to establish an impeccable reputation in our market area.

Some of the accounts we lost have returned. Building managers say, "I just had to try them at that price." Some will never return because of the embarrassment of admitting they were wrong in changing services. Through it all, our company has developed a philosophy: we can't do all the cleaning in , so we only do the best. By staying with the highest standards of service, we have attracted customers who seek the highest level of proficiency.

Sometimes it’s necessary to turn down business, especially commercial accounts because we have a policy that our trucks are off the road by 8pm.  All our work is performed in the daytime or early evening hours and our employees appreciate being able to spend more time with their families and are sufficiently rested and ready for work the next day.  Many carpet cleaning company’s choose to perform commercial work late at night (restaurants, banks, etc.) and then expect their employees to perform at peak levels during the day when they are performing work in our homes.

Our people are rested and able to provide top-quality, daytime service for our customers. Residential carpet accounts for about seventy-four percent of the total carpet production in this country. The competition seems to concentrate on the other twenty-six percent, the commercial market. My position has always been to let the competition have night work. Meanwhile, we can concentrate all of our efforts in providing superior work for our residential clients thereby exceeding their highest expectations for quality and service.  When we deliver value to our customers they’re happy to refer us to their friends.  No sales force could accomplish what these satisfied customers do for us.
