American Motorsports Bar and Grill

I have dined here many times. The drink and food prices are low to medium. The service and food are the BEST IN COTTAGE GROVE. Every time I go there, the food is delivered quickly and it is always hot and delicious. Others I have dined with here feel the same. The owner and staff treat each other as if they were good friends. It feels like a "happy place" and I am always happy I went there.

This place has got to be the worst resturant in town. Not only is the experience was horrible, but that goes for the food also. Everything I got was cold and tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for awhile. I also saw many unprofessional behaviors such as the owner himself yelling at an employee right in front of everyone in the dining room and even the bartender doing crossword puzzles and ignoring the people stting at the bar, whom he should be tending to. The best thing about this place was the greeter and our server, the one my family had was very nice and genuinely cared about our table. I would have to say that the "car bar" is not a place to be recommended to anyone looking for an out of this world experience...

Went for lunch at noon on a Sunday, and the whole experience was terrific. Really tasty, well prepared food, great variety on the menu and friendly service that was prompt even with the large crowd in the place. It's a casual place where we felt instantly comfortable. Relaxed, casual, nice crowd including young couples, groups of friends, families and post-church groups all mixing in perfectly. Sunday's menu is the full menu including breakfast until 2, so we all could get what we wanted. Food was REALLY GOOD and we had everything from omelets to cheeseburgers and appetizers. Fun motorsports theme with lots of great memorabilia but not cheezy like a TFi Fridays. The owner collected it all himself and everything on the wall has a story. We definitely have added this to the top of our list and it's so nice to have a real, family owned place where you can feel like you're walking into "Cheers" in a world of cookie-cutter chains. And the food was better!

I have had nothing but great experiences at the "CAR BAR". Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. You don't have to be a racing fan to go there. They will have Twins, Wild, Football games, Gophers, whatever. Great Happy hour, 4-6pm and 8-11. Bar food is good AND the steaks and your more non traditional bar food is AWESOME. Drinks are priced fair and they have pull tabs. Karoake on Wednesday's is fun. If you are a racing fan, race day is a MUST.

While I'm not a NASCAR fan, I've been to this restaurant many times since it opened a few years ago. Despite average service, they always serve cold beer & excellent food. I really love their Walleye Fingers, French Dip, Cheeseburger, and French Fries. They always keep me coming back for more because I know I will get excellent food for a reasonable price.
