The atmosphere is pleasing, seats a little hard, service is ok, and the food is really good. However, there is a consistant problem with the pasta not being drained appropriately, which really effects the meal. Pizza is pretty good, NY style, sandwiches are good; fries, if they were drained better would be good. The music is nice. Portion size can't compete with Pizza Palace, about a mile away. If there was a zero stars i would have chosen it instead of 1 star. We ordered 4 dishes and ate not one of them. Fettucine alfredo, chicken parmisean, baked ziti and gnocci. All unedible. The service was good, but the food was awful. Chef boy r dee makes better food. By cherie gilmore on July 16, 2009 at 07:34 PM
This place used to be outstanding. However, now the food is always cold, service bad. I don't know if it is because he can't keep good help or doesn't care anymore. The hot wings are always burnt, cold in the middle. Pasta over cooked. It is a shame, because again, this place used to be the best Italian food in lower Delaware. My dad and I stopped by this lovely little restaurant hoping to get some homestyle pasta as we are not much for eating pizza. We ordered the daily specials "Chicken diavolo" and "Grilled salmon with oil, garlic and lemon" and to our surprise and delight it probably was the best pasta dishes we've ever eaten. I am a recent culinary school graduate and consider myself to be quite a food snob and prefer my own cooking....the next day I called the restaurant to ask for the recipes, need I say more! Thanks for the memorable meal... By GINA ARGYROU on December 11, 2007 at 01:34 PM
Bella Capri is one of the lower shores best kept secrets and family owned. You are treated like family from the moment you step in their doorway. You truely feel as if you are having an authentic Italian meal with pleantiful servings. The owner himself has even been caught hand tossing the dough for their pizza! The owner's lovely wife helps greet and serve the customers, while the owner's sister and brother-in-law keep things running. Whether it's your first visit or you are a repeat customer you and your children are welcomed... and if you are lucky you may even meet the owner's boys and nephew. As for the setting...they have decorated with simple traditional red, green and white tiled walls, Italian paintings, and locally adverstived business placemats. This resturant supports local programs. There is pleantiful parking. You can even request a server on any given day. By zoe fairbridge on January 24, 2007 at 06:11 PM
