Bob Simon's Auto Repair

HORRIBLE! I got charged $300 dollars for a repair that should have been less than a third of that. I paid cash but was not given a receipt, I was told that the printer was not working. I didn't think too much of it since I had heard a couple of good reviews from this guy but boy did I regret that! I got a call from him a little while later threatening to send me to collections if I didn't pay when I already had! He calls himself a "nice guy" but he is nothing but a liar and a creep.

I have used Bob's for twenty years, recently Bob has been sick and the guy he hired to manage, Mike, is a liar and a ripoff. Go somewhere else or get screwed!!!!!

Just to add, I had my cars taken care of by Bob and his crew for many years with excellent service always. For me the best was how I came to them... I had a 81 VW with a aluminum engine that I had driven as it overheated. The towtruck took the car to a VW specialist who told me I warped the motor and it would need to replaced. $1500 I didnt have. Casually, I met Bob and told him the problem prior to taking a decision on what to do. I towed the car to him and preapproved any repair of less than $800, as the new motor was $1500. Bob told me he had it under control and to give him a few days. He called me and told me to come down a few days later. I went with $800 in hand prepared to fight if he asked me for one dollar more, as I only preapproved $800. I got there and was handed my bill. It was less than $20. I needed a wire replaced. . I couldn't figure out what it was so I took the car to the dealer (Infiniti of Coconut Creek) the following weekend. The dealer explained to me someone had taken out the oil dip stick and failed to put it back in properly. My vehicle's motor was full of burnt oil in the exterior and they had to clean it. At this point I called Bob Simon's Auto repair and spoke to one of the mechanics that was covering for Reuben while he was away having lunch. I explained to the mechanic my outrage and disappointment with the service provided by Bob Simon. I gave him my contact information and he assured me that I would be contacted (Never Happened). With the following I just want to make sure that this doesn't happen again to someone else. How can I trust this business to change something more complicated in my car such as a distributor, water pump etc when they can't put the oil dip stick properly.

On 11/28/2009 I took my 2004 Infiniti G35 to Bob Simon's Auto Repair in order to change its Cabin Air Filter and Engine Air Filter. When I received the car back it had a 2 inch rip in the passenger seat and the hood smelled like burnt oil after I drove it. I noticed the ripped seat the same day and drove back to Bob Simon's before they closed. I spoke to Reuben about the ripped seat, he took pictures of it with his cell phone and promised me I would receive a call from Bob the following week (Never received a call). Afterwards that same day my car started to smell like burnt oil after I drove it.
