the quality of this restaurant has been steadily going down since july. the food is never the same. the dishes always taste different and I highly doubt anyone in this place is servsafe certified. the food runners hands were disgusting when he brought my food out. the drinks are awful and the service is so much slower since the 2 good looking, younger Indian boys left. Lloyd and the young man with the shaved head were doing a good job. before them Vivica was doing a good job. the owner must be flat out stupid to get rid of 2 good management teams in 2 years. Very disappointing By Mike Jones on August 17, 2009 at 12:34 PM
it was 25 july , my friends birthday, so we dicided to go to bollywood bistro in pleasantville, we given a table in the middle, we sat there 10 mins , we asked for sparkling water,, wich came late, the waiter finally came in, he was all sweaty, he asked us for drinks,we ordered 3 glass of wine, and bombay martini up with olives, the indian waiter came back with teh drinks,we got 2 different sizes of wine glass, we all had the same wine, wine was corkey,i found small picesof wood floating in the wine, the glasses were dirty, the martini was horrible,
now we got to the food part, we ordered, veg turnover, which was not cooked, the calamri was rubbery, our entre came out very late, the yellow dal was salty, tangy veg was horrible, the bread was good, the tandori chicken was raw inside, the old guy who bought the food out had yellow nails, dirty, ,, its was never like that a month ago, the food was great, but now its awafull.
not a good place By appy on July 27, 2009 at 12:03 PM
During our recent visit to Bollywood Bistro, this Indian restaurant stood out for the uniformly bad taste of its food.Despite dipping into an extensive set of items on the menu, we never got a chance to taste even a single stand-out dish.On a contrary, most of the dishes we had at Bollywood Bistro ranged from bad to awful. What made our disappointment with the Bollywood Bistro food difficult to bear was the high expectations with which we went. What a bad bad decision that was!The biriyani was abysmal and had no resemblace to a vegetable biryani... It did have an overpowering uncooked garam masala smell..it was enough to drive an Indian to despair., By Jaya on May 09, 2009 at 03:04 PM
I had an issue with Nellie, the manager of the restaurant and gift shop. She refused to honor a gift certificate I had. She said 1) it was too old, even though there was no expiration date on it 2) it was given to me when the shop had different management, which was stealing money from the business (I don't see why this should be taken out on the customer). Just overall poor customer service. Not very smart to be like this in this kind of economy. I know too many people in this neighborhood and this review won't be the last I type on this computer.
