Million Dollar Quartet - Worth Every Penny

5

We had a great time on our first tour with Canterbury Tours. It was clear from the spotless, comfortable bus, to the excellent timing and scheduling of our time in downtown Chicago (Michigan Ave), and then on to the Apollo Theater, that they have many years experience in setting up and operating successful, well planned trips. My wife and I felt it was a nice change to ride in, not worry about tolls, parking or traffic, enjoy the show, a cocktail too, and again, leave the driving in the hands of our courteous driver. Would definitely recommend taking any kind of tour with Canterbury! Call them at: 815-398-1454.

Canterbury Tours and Wrigley Field/Cubs Game

5

The only way to see a Cubs Game! Rode a comfortable, air conditioned bus to Wrigley Field. Left early enough in the day to get to park with time to walk around and have lunch. Seats for the game were great. I think one of the best things about the trip was when the bus parked directly arcoss from the ball park. There was no extra walking after the bus dropped you off and no walking and waiting for the bus to come by and pick you up after the game. A service that only Canterbury Tours has! The entire trip was great and the staff at Canterbury Tours really make you feel welcome! I highly recommend taking one of their bus trips to a Cubs game and look forward to taking one of the many other trips they have available.

Billy Elliot - All the Pleasure none of the Pain

5

As usual, Janet from Canterbury Books & Tours made my day! Her recommendation that Ed and I see Billy Elliot was spot on. I have not gotten on the bus with this tour company when I came back disappointed. All of the planning, details, tickets, driving, parking, and head ache are taken care of when you go with Canterbury. Our day started with a five minute drive to HighCrest shopping center where we boarded the bus and left on time. Traffic was heavy on the way in, but we let Rick the driver take care of that for us. I love not having to drive to or park in Chicago. We were dropped off on Michigan Ave. The bus picks up at that same location and goes to the theatre before the play, but Ed and I decided to walk to Millennium Park, had a quick lunch at a quaint Chinese luncheon spot, and then walked back to the Theatre district. Our seats were great. The musical from start to finish was wonderful. The choreography was complex with a variety ranging from tap to ballet. LOL out of room

Bliss

I truly enjoy flowers, and the earlier in spring I can find them, the happier I am. I do no enjoy traffic, rude drivers, road blocks, detours, parking and the hassles that go along with going to the Windy City. If it were not for Janet and Canterbury Books and Tours I would have missed the wonderful promise of Spring that the 2010 Flower Show had displayed at its finest. But since a picture is worth 1000 words I have posted photos at http://picasaweb.google.com/mcscathie/2010FlowerShow# Just click on the slide show and walk with us through the wonderful displays and living art. Janet, Thank you for a wonderful day!

Our First Trip With Canterbury Tours - Wed. Nov. 11, 2009...

5

We took our first "trip" with Canterbury Tours to see "Jersey Boys." From the minute we boarded the bus until we returned to the parking lot, we had a delightful day. Because someone else was driving, we were able to relax and visit. The trip included a bit of shoping on Michigan Ave., time for lunch and then on to the theatre. By the end of the first act, I was enthralled. After the show we were picked up and whisked back to Rockford in a warm and cosy bus. It was like having 2 trips to Chicago with no headaches, parking fees, or traffic snarls. The cost was very reasonable, the tour excellant, and the memories priceless. I look forward to my next adventure with Canterbury."

Tour of New Contemporary Wing at Chicago Art Institute..,

5

Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 - We took a motor coach group in for a guided TOUR OF THE NEW CONTEMPORAY WING AT THE CHICAGO ART INSTITUTE - now the country's second-largest art museum and the city's newest attraction! We experienced Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano's spectacular new Modern Wing, with world-renowned collections of modern and contemporary art, design, photography, and architecture, and connected directly to Millennium Park by a pedestrian bridge called the "Gutter." It was very beautiful and impressive. We had lunch in the new Terzo Piano Restaurant also... Wow!

Carrie Underwood at Ravinia with Canterbury Tours...

5

Our trip to Ravinia Park to see Carrie Underwood on Sunday, August 30th couldn't have been better! The motor coach was ready to leave at 2:30 pm. Getting to Ravinia early is critical because the early guests get the best lawn seats. I couldn't believe how packed the parking lot was. Then there she was live on stage. When Carrie's microphone stand wouldn't work when she wanted to play guitar on Don't Forget To Remember Me she sang it without the guitar, telling the audience I would mess up the pretty parts with the guitar. It was one of the many moments throughout the show that allowed the 18,000 fans to get to know the other side of the steady, polished star and how she has grown. She sang for more than an hour and a half, packing 18 songs and three different outfits into her set. When the concert was over we walked out to the motor coach, which was parked right outside the front gate, got on and relaxed while our driver drove us home. Thanks Canterbury Tours!

Canterbury Trip to Ravinia... Lang Lang and Herbie Hancock

5

. The gates opened at 5:00 pm and we were there at 5 minutes to 5:00, ready to find our perfect spot on the lawn. The weather was a beautiful 79 degrees. It was a get away from it all day. There was plenty of time to explore the park before the concert started at 7:00 pm. The candles were lit, the wine was poured and the night began! Jazz icon Herbie Hancock and classical phenom Lang Lang got together for their joint world tour, making its American premiere Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 at Ravinia. Playing perhaps the most celebrated crossover work of all time, George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue," as well as jazz solos and modernist classical pieces, the concert seemed as much a cultural manifesto as a musical evening. It couldn't have been better unless maybe it never ended! We we on the road to Rockford by 11:00 pm, feet in the air and relaxing comfortably while our driver delivered us home safely. If you haven't tried Ravinia do yourself a favor, you won't be disapointed!

Do you enjoy gourmet items and good food, then please join Canterbury's "Cooks Tour" next year. We visited several upscale stores--Fox & Obel, lWhole Foods, and the Spice Market. Also we dined at the Kendall Culinary School and had a delicious lunch prepared by the student. So, save the date, bring your coolers and prepare to have a wonderful culinary adventure!!!!
