Christophers Cafe & Restaurant

What a mess. This was the owrst meal I have had in many many years. The owner is probably one of the worst restaurant owners I have met in my years as a foodie. We had a party of 8 and 2 left happy! That should say it all. You would think a rack of lamb should be pretty easy to cook when ordered medium right? WRONG! After we sent back 2 they came out the second time RAW! Nice job! Of course a GOOD businness man would come over apologize ANYTHING to rectify the situation...WRONG again . He did nothing except glare at us! What a professional! All of the mashed potatoes served with dinner had to be returned and heated, they were out of 1/2 the appetizers by 7 pm on a Friday. They substituted things without asking the diner, and you dont serve califlower with mashed potatoes, white on white, on white looks liek a plate of blah.well, maybe in this case it fit! This was really a HUGE disappointment, the worst thing wasn't the food though, it was the nasty poor man they call the owner!

Christopher's is a great little find. I have never had a meal here that I didn't enjoy. They have a grilled vegetable sandwich that is exceptional. My husband and I enjoy lunch here. The restaurant is a little small and tends to get packed at lunch (which says something about the food and the service) so make sure you get there early for lunch!

I stopped in for lunch with my daughter and it was a delight. The Bowtie pasta with mushrooms and walnuts was very good. Our waitress was friendly and provided us with prompt service and didn't rush us. The decor was pleasing, with a fireplace and wainscotting and the lighting was good. I will definetly go there again.

Per my previous comment, this is a great local place. My husband and I have been coming every Friday for months. Jimmy (owner) and Dean (waitress), could not be more accomodating. We've never had a bad meal. Those individuals who were so vocal in their displeasure must have eaten at a different restaurant!

that review was not right at all. the food was great and the chef is not bad. that person must have had a bad day and blamed in on christophers .

We went to Christopher's because we saw the signs up at the gym so we figured there was not too much else going on in Colts Neck. Arriving in a HOT foyer we were escorted into a filthy carpeted room with a room air conditioner that didn't work on a 98 degree day. The menu stated everything was fresh...NOT the case. The Niciose salad was made with canned tuna, despite the menu description. The pasta was made with jarred alfredo sauce. The pizza was frozen with freezer burn and a few inch sized rounds of cheese placed upon it. The Greek Salad had a feta "salad" with mayonaise --premade--arranged on Romaine. On top of it, the hostess placed an ice bucket directly behind my chair so when I moved my seat to try and get some AC from the wall unit to blow on me, it spilled over. The chef made sure to comment on my exit. What a disgusting place, horrible food, and rude chef. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Try your grocer's freezer, its better all the way around, even for catering.
