To replace a defective zipper on a U,S, Navy flight jacket, should I order a 24" G-1 from U.S. Wings ($30) or do you have one in stock that would be less expensive? How much do you charge for sewing?

We usually charge approx. $50 to replace a zipper in a waist length leather jacket. That includes the cost of the zipper. Our zipper should be compatible with your original. If you bring your jacket into the shop next week we can take a look at it and give you an estimate. Thank you for your inquiry. Hi Katie, We do clean leather jackets. You would need to bring the jacket to our shop so that it can be looked at by our staff to determine your cost. Could you please give us more information about the condition of the jacket? 1) what is the overall appearance of the jacket (is it a smooth stressed leather or suede) 2) how long ago was the incident? 3) was this baby or adult vomit and how much of it got on the jacket? 4) did the vomit get onto the liner or just the exterior? Please feel free to call me during our business hours if you have any other questions. Thank you for your inquiry. Hello Jim, I have a Ravens leather jacket that has a polyester lining that needs to be cleaned. Can the jacket be cleaned inside and out without damaging it?

Reply to Comment March 15, 2009 by Robert

Hi Robert, I can clean the leather exterior of your jacket. As far as the liner goes, I haven't come up with a way to clean them effectively as of yet. If the liner is removable you can machine wash it. If the liner is not removable I would suggest you take the jacket to a dry cleaner who is able to send it out to a "leather cleaning service". If I can be of any further assistance please let me know. Thank you for your inquiry. Jim Clarke Clarke's Express Shoe Repair ( Reply posted on March 15, 2009 )
