Countrywide Home Loans

My husband and I are in the middle of trying to purchase a home through countrywide. We are supposed to close next Weds and we were told today that they need "extra documents" and we may not be able to close until after. Do what?! So we have already put about $500 out on this home, and we may lose it because the underwriters are unorganized idiots. I hope the seller gives us an extension. If not, we are screwed, seeing how we are staying with relatives because they made us sell our trailer and pay off our loan in order to pre approve us! LAME.

Don't count on scheduled closing dates ! We had problems too. I question that they are too busy. Closing agents are available.

I am absolutely frustrated with my dealings with Countrywide Mortgage. We were supposed to close on a Friday and we were called daily just days before the closing date that yet another piece of information was needed. I was suprised when I initially started this loan process that I didn't need to send much paperwork in but I was reassured repeatedly that they had everything that they needed. Don't trust this! On Thursday (the night before closing), we found out that there was yet one more piece that they needed. We were already on our way home. Since we don't have a fax machine at home, we faxed the paperwork in first thing in the morning. Unknown to us, apparently our first fax was too light. As soon as we were told, we refaxed the information in. We were told that 9:10 am was too late to get the information so our closing date was postponed! We did everything that was asked of us in a very timely fashion yet here we sit having to wait to move into our new house!
