My husband and I just picked up "Day" creamed herring from County Mkt. and it is the best we ever had, wish my folks were still here to try this, they would love it too.

We've made going to the Day Fish Company part of our Christmas ritual. Every year for the past 13 we have taken a Saturday afternoon right before Christmas and drove up to Day for a bucket of herring, lefsa, lingon berry jam and the cod. All of these are delicious. F...or those of you who don't want to travel up to Day (easy drive straight up Hwy. 47) you can get it at St. Francis Foods, they sell the buckets there every winter.
You haven't had Pickled Herring UNTIL you have their's.
I grew up in area eating the herring from Day Fish. When I moved away to college I bought some "other brand" at the grocery store, what a horrible mistake. There is NO comparison. The pickled herring from Day Fish is BY FAR THE BEST HERRING EVER!!!!!!!!!

This is the very very best pickled herring EVER! It is soooo sweet and tasty! I can not say enough about it. I wish we could get it in the cities. I have only been able to buy it if someone goes to Braham, MN. to pick some up. Once you try it you will have to have this recipe of pickled herring. :-)
A Golden Nugget in Day!
This is absolutely the finest supplier of fish in this area. The guy who runs the shop is cordial and friendly. It's not hard to find, either! The northwest corner of the main intersection in litte Day, Minnesota. We have a golden nugget in ourt backyard!
