THE PITS !
Not to the point where I would refuse to pay for it, but pretty close. They claim to use jumbo lump crabmeat. It was more like pureed crabmeat. I wasn't even expecting jumbo lump, but the crabcakes were poor. The menu reads that there is a choice of broiled or fried cra...bcakes although the waiter never asked. Salads were the smallest I've ever seen, with dressing drenched on them, even though 2 of us had asked for it on the side. $28 for a dinner and the mashed potato that comes with it is powdered instant whipped!!\t\nOne of us asked for water which the waiter brought. He left the table without filling the other 3 empty glasses. Baked potatoes came without butter and we weren't asked if we wanted any. There is a charge for drink refills. One of the 4 entrees was split but a second plate never arrived.
The Inn in the Early 1950s
US Coast Guardsman stationed in Strathmere 1952, early 1953. The DI provided our recreation and it is still probably a great place\t\n\t\nZane de Arakal\t\nIrvine, CA.
did they forget me!
Several people said you just have to go to the Deauville Inn when you're in the Strathmere/Ocean City area because of the ambiance...sitting outside alongside the water...peaceful and calm...yes...it was surely that BUT the service was like...well...I mean I could have ...gone home and cleaned the house in the interim...I'm basically a patient person but one-half hour to get our food from the time the order was placed (and it wasn't even crowded)..I'd say that's a bit much!...I don't know if the cook went out to kill the chicken first or what...anyhow, if' one is really hungry or just doesn't have that much time or patience to spend waiting for one'sorder...then I wouldn't go to the Deauville Inn (and this wait period wasn't just for one incident)...also, the food was okay but nothing to rave about...sorry!
a great place for dinner
the Deauville Inn is a great restaurant to visit when you are down the Jersey Shore. located in Strathmere it's smack dab between the popular towns of Sea Isle and Ocean City. \t\n\t\nthey have a nice seafood menu with some other dishes such as chicken and steak. best b...et is to stick with the seafood or the Surf and Turf. it's open all year round. next to the main dining room is a mini-sports bar with some TVs and a pool table. \t\n\t\nalso during the summer there is a nice deck right on the bay where you can eat or just have drinks. overall the Deauville Inn is a great place
