The Downtown Rochelle Association has several members that really try to keep things interesting in the downtown. Many businesses are instrumental in helping with events for our community. Its good to see our residents supporting our downtown merchants!

To whom it may concern, The Sunday of Labor day weekend is Vocation Sunday. We at First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle honor individual vocations on that Sunday. In the past we have honored farmers, teachers, medical professionsal etc. We have chosen this year to honor retailers. We feel that with the current economy that there may be many concerns to lift up in prayer on that day. We will be having a meeting on Tuesday 8/4 and welcome anyone who would like to share any joys or concerns with us. You may contact me at edgram@comcast.net or 815/289-0087. Local merchants work very hard to offer something different and unique to Downtown Shopping. Just because a place is small, doesn't mean they have high prices, they are very competative to bring you downtown and keep your business local. Local merchants offer service that you cannot get anywhere else because they may your neighbors. You might be pleasantly surprised to see how the Downtown is growing and offering more selection of products.
