We had dinner last night at Eastland Cafe (party of 8). The service was very good. No complaints in this area. With the exception of the steaks that we ordered, the food was excellent. I have ordered steaks at Eastland on more than one occasion and never will again. This is one area where they just can't seem to get it right. Last night, I ordered my steak medium and the first time it came out it was somewhere between rare and medium rare. When it came back out, it was closer to well done. The chicken dish was great and the mahi mahi was very nice. In closing, good restaurant...Just stay away from the steaks... By Tom on May 23, 2010 at 07:35 AM
Eastland Cafe has had a good reputation in Nashville for years, but unfortunately with what has seemed to be recent changes in staffing, the environment there has gone sour. The servers all have an attitude, however it seems they have much too many tables to themselves and I think I heard something about our server having to wash dishes which is why he took so long to get us water. Water! The food there is good, I must say, but these last few times I've been going in the food did NOT taste how it used to, presentation was sloppy and when I asked for it to be redone, it came out worse. There was no management anywhere to be found. Who's running this nuthouse?! Whoever they need to do their job or they're going to lose their reputation real quick. If you want a place with ambience, this is it. We love to eat there...the food is always spectacular and they make a mean martini. Be sure and ask for Daniel as your server...he is the BEST! Table 10 is our favorite and the patio is nice. You can even dress for dinner and not feel "overdone"...it's a wonderful neighborhood jewel for the Eastside. By Lisa on August 30, 2008 at 08:43 PM
