Hello everyone! I have been going to this location for over 20 years; I even meet my husband Terry here! First it was Gators, then Geckos, and it had been Five Star Tavern for about 7 years +/-. I have seen bartenders come and go thought the years, but the fact is the machines pay really good at Five Star. I am a self proclaimed “Bar Fly” so I have seen it all. Fact is if you don’t pay my jackpot quickly and correctly you will not get a tip from me! (Sorry) Tips are for good service. I love everyone that this location! This bar knows what they are doing! Ok – the Tavern business isn’t like cheers. I have seen the bartenders make $2,000 a night on weekends / busy nights. I personally hit for $16,000 and tipped $1,500 to the bartender (ok you don’t win like that all the time, but I get plenty of play time). You have to know how to handle money, slot machines, players and all the other bartender stuff. Hell, I think Bartenders in Las Vegas are more liken to Doctors. This is one complex job, and I think the Five Star management team and staff do a awesome job. If you want to see one of the nicest bars in NW Las Vegas, with Video Poker slot machines that really pay, go to Five Star Tavern (they have 4 locations) I’ll be playing on machine #2 (All Star Poker, OMG) my favorite! First - wow what a place! I was in a saw a new bartender pay a 10K jackpot. Let me add this is the 4th 10K winner I have seen at this location in 6 months! The Machines and Staff really Rock here! I even meet the owners and they are really down to earth. Unfortunately the poor girl couldn’t count money very well. She had money spread half way around the bar (lol), I felt really bad for the big winner. I am not surprised that they had to let her go, if you can’t do the job don’t apply for it! I love this bar, just wish I would win 10K too!!! John T
