We vacation nearby every year and finally stopped in for meal last year. What a mistake. The food was mediocre and the service was non-existent. You won't need any reservations to get seated the place was nearly empty every time we passed by. We'll drive the extra few miles and get a great meal at the Brownstone Inn any day. This place cant be much worse. They serve days old food, if they even have what you want in the first place. Waitstaff is inexperienced and serve terribly plated dinners that look as bad as they taste. The experience reminded me of the lunch that I used to get in school. What a shame, the place could be a goldmine in proper hands. By Russ on April 03, 2011 at 03:23 PM
Munising and Christmas are the best. Foggys however needs help. The place is nice, snowmobile accessible and a fun way to have a meal. Been going for years and this is going to be the last. I understand that good help is hard to find but it is so simple to put together a decent salad bar and refill the ice cream machine. If your happy cooking your own steak (usually available in the refrigerator) you will do well. If you want a decent salad (most items were empty on the salad bar) or a baked potato (I watched the last one go 30 minutes before I was ready) or desert...forget it. Asked to have the machine (soft serve) refilled and after 30 minutes gave up. Sorry to be negative but there are a lot of better ways to spend 26.00 for your dinner. After working many years in the restaurant business I would blame the lack of management on this situation. Please improve this place. I hope to make it a go-to place again sometime. "Grill your own steak" at Foggys on their huge open pit BBQ!! Located in Christmas on beautiful Lake Superior and right across the street from the Kewadin Casino!! Nice atmosphere and has a private porch dining room overlooking nature at its best! Call ahead for reservations. 906 387-3357 By Cindy on May 25, 2010 at 10:15 AM
The friday nite fish fry is generous and delicious. The salad bar is simple but fresh; the soups-usually two varieties, clam chowder and another kitchen-made speciality-hot and satisfying. The fish is fresh and cooked just right. The batter on the perch, my favorite, is light and flavorful and does not overwhelm the delicate fish taste. Choice of so-so potatoes; forgetable breadsticks. Soft serve ice cream. But the fish, great!!! Good attentive service. Can be busy on a Friday nite. Cant beat the $1.25 draft Leinen Kugel. By Suz Larsen on May 23, 2010 at 12:03 PM
