We had brunch yesterday at the Fox & Hounds and if I could have given it a lower rating, I would have. The eggs were overcooked and cold, the bacon undercooked and greasy and the other choices were disappointing. It cost almost $50.00 for 3 people and was a complete waste of money. Ignore the negative ratings. These must be former staff from the old days trying to hurt the company. We were a party of 10 and the house was mostly full. Our reservation time was kept and we sat down upon arrival. The service was pleasant and attentive. The menu is reasonable and the food was outstanding. I had the Rib Eye steak and was very pleased. I tried my wife's Drunken Shrimp and it also was great. Many others had ribs and they were fall off the bone tender and delicious. The coffee was good enough I didn't use cream which for me is a good measure. The weeknight buy one get one deal makes it an excellent value. I highly recommend Fox and Hounds. A beautiful setting in the country with a country club atmosphere. Thank you. Go enjoy your self! By ehanner on July 02, 2009 at 09:56 PM
Don't let the buy one dinner get one free special fool you.
It is still over priced and food is not what I expected.
Drinks are way over priced and the management is non existent. By Anonymous on December 29, 2008 at 08:15 PM
We have been going to Fox and Hounds for a great many fish fries. One of the best around, also their specials are really great. The drinks are really good. The waitstaff is very attentive to all our needs. By Rita Christianson on November 29, 2008 at 07:53 AM
While we were sitting waiting for our food, a number of servers started spraying cleaner on the chairs and tables around us ( this is 5:30 on a SATURDAY NIGHT, during dinner service), like we weren't even there. The food was bland, tasteless. My husband said his steak was chemically tenderized and gristly. My daughter's french onion soup tasted as if it came from a box mix and it was topped with MOZZARELLA CHEESE. It's shameful when we think of how nice this place was when it was owned by the Ratsch's. It's a beautiful location with a lot of potential, but the food and the treatment, was horrible. It's like it's run by a bunch of amateurs who have cheaped out on the quality of food and neglected to properly train their staff. We will never, ever, return, and will tell everyone we can what a poor experience it was so no one else has to waste money like we did. By Anonymous on August 16, 2008 at 08:31 PM
For 30 some yrs. this was my top choice in the state, I've probably spent enough dining and drinking here to buy the place. Just had a 12 oz.ribeye that was 8 oz. of gristle and fat, the bottom line is I spent $43.00 for a decent salad and then to top things off you cant even smoke at the bar anymore. Step outside to smoke? B.S. I'll not pay good bucks for a piece of gristle and then be treated like some kind of second class citizen. This used to be a class act...I'll spend my money elsewhere now, but I have to say the building is still a piece of work and my dog really liked the gristle. By lee on July 21, 2008 at 05:08 PM
We could not have had a more miserable experience. Review space is too short to explain it all and as our waitress said, "he is the manager and I can't do anything to help, or he'll be mad." Well, what a way to run a business!! By Susan on October 13, 2007 at 05:01 PM
