Merchant Ratings Foxfield

I currently board at Foxfield, and although I would like to believe that all of these reviews are false...I'm ashamed to admit that they are all true. The barn is becoming completely run down, horses get MINIMAL care and some are in horrible shape, if you horse has "issues" Jen just tells you to sell it, and it is 100% true that the barn is managed on how to make a quick dollar - NOT the care of your horse! The ONLY reason I still board there is because I do self-care and take the health/care of my horse under my own discretion....I wouldn't trust a single one of them with my horse. And the post about the horse who died because of the lack of care/ignorance Foxfield Farms provided her with is TRUE - and the horse was only 14.

Merchant Ratings Only in it for the money.

I was a student & boarder years ago. I went back not long ago to help a friend. It was actually better 15 years ago than it is now!
I would never trust the owner with my horse. The turnout is pretty much nonexistant. She does not pay the workers which leads to terrible stalls, a filthy barn & rundown farm.
The trainer doesn't know what she's talking about & only cares about $. The lesson I observed, she arrived just before the lesson started, walked from her car to the ring, spent half the time riding one of the new horses in her shorts, & then walked directly back to her car and left. No helping the students, just a very superficial lesson.
I used to think this place was okay, until I knew better. The last review is clearly an adolescent who is naive to what the equine world is really about.
Foxfield is far below any reasonable standards of care. It has the potential to be a nice facility-- with a new owner, new training staff, & a lot of work. I hope someday it will be that.
