I want to print and cut removable graphics using 3M controltac. Is there printer/plotter/cutter available or do I need a printer and a cutter? I am a novice, so can you explain the best process?

Thanks for your question. I'm not sure what type application you need to know about. 3M Controltac is typically used to put large graphics on vehicles or other large objects. 3M Controltac film is not the type of material our equipment normally works with. We specialize in equipment and supplies for making industrial labels and signs, such as ANSI compliant safety signs. We do make the DuraCut brand of vinyl cutters, the largest of which can handle materials up to 72 inches in width. You'll find information about them at: http://www.duracutsystem.com/ Our printers are described on our DuraLabel web site located at www.DuraLabel.com. If you'll tell me a little more about what you need to do, and if it is the type of application we normally work with, I may be able to provide more information.

Rick, thank you for your question.
How you go about making window decals will depend on the quantity, type and how frequently you change the design. The type of printers we make are designed for heavy duty, on-demand, custom printing... usually for industrial or military applications such as pipe markers, wire labels, OSHA safety signs, and warehouse labels.
If you have a large number of decals to make, or need a lot of different decals, then we have the printers that could get the job done. For example, our printers could print 500 decals a month and make every decal as a unique decal. Or you might make a different decal each month. Or make different decals for different sports or types of equipment.
With our printers, in addition to opaque or clear vinyl, you can also use specialty materials such as static cling tapes that produce window decals that do not use adhesive.
On the other hand, if you are looking at low volumes, or making a lot of copies of the same decal, then there may be other solutions that would better fit your needs. Please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-788-5572.
