Gravois Auto Repair

I'm not sure where the other reviews are coming from. I've taken my car to Gravois Auto for the last couple years, and only have positive things to say. Repairs are expensive everywhere, so no one usually feels they are getting a "good deal". Before I have any major work done (and I've had a lot of work done), I always call around and Gravois Auto has been the cheapest every time. They've never claimed I needed more service than I actually did need. For example, I just got new tires and the labor & install was only about $25 (which is way below any other place I've been to). I highly recommend Gravois Auto.

they do great jobs on oil change but to have them check out any other problems they charge so much money now thats ridiculous

Cheap oil change but that is it! What was once a good family run business is now a rip-off since the opening of their 2nd shop. I took my car in because it was randomly not starting. I had the battery and the alternator tested and they tested fine. They told me it was the alternator and charged me over $500.00 to replace it. I specifically asked them if they were sure that is what it is because it tested fine. Yes, Yes they said. Well still having the same problem so I took it back and now they tell me it is the starter and it will cost $450.00 to replace. When I informed them that they diagnosed the problem incorrectly and charged me 500.00 for a part I didn't need that was too bad, I apparently waited too long to take it back! Terrible, terrible service. I will not ever be going back and wish I would have never referred others there.

they may have cheap oil changes, but I was also paying for tire rotation when need. well I had to buy new front tires because they wore down. do not go to this place for any reason. i am a mom of 3 driving most of the day, what would I have done with a blown tire.

The one in affton is terrible. They tried telling me i needed all new calipers and brake hoses. Even tho I put new ones on. I only needed one side done because of mechanical failure. They tried telling me it was gonna be 450 dollars. All my brakes and calipers were under warrenty and they wouldnt let me get the stuff and let them install it. They are terrible. They tried telling me it would take an 1 hour and it took 4 to 5. They are very greedy and are ignorant.

I brought my car in to Gravois to have a squeaky noise repaired. Gravois took my money, didn't fix the noise, and then claimed they had told me they couldn't guaranteed the noise would be fixed. Simply wasn't fair. They were also rude and refused to work towards a fair resolution to the problem. I'd been going to Gravois for a few years for oil changes, won't return and suggest you don't either.

The mechanic failed my vehicle inspection because "My taillights were wired wrong". One light was a bit brighter than the other was the only problem. I wouldn't recommend this place. I wish I would have read the other reviews before going here.

I THINK THATS FANTASTIC THEY CALLED AROOUND NUBERS ON YOUR CELL PHONE TILL THEY COULD CONTACT YOU BECAUSE THEY COULDNT EVEN CALL ME TO TELL ME MY CAR WAS READY AND TO COME PICK IT UP BEFORE CLOSING THE SHOP!!!!! THEY SUCK AND THEY ALSO DIDNT EVEN PUT MY OIL CAP BACK ON...SO OIL LEAKED ALL OVER MY BRAND NEW PAVEMENT

I've had my oil changed numerous times (probably 5 or 6) and have only praise for this shop. They have never tried to upsell or get me to buy any other replaceable parts for my car. I'm sure they did check (I assume) but never said anything was dirty and needed changing. As far as being trustworthy.......I left my cell phone there and they called the numbers in it till they could get it returned to me.
