I just read this blog and most of it is fabricated lies. I've worked at G. P. Coffee for the past 3 years. The owner cares very much for his employees but doesn't stand for any nonsense.Yes, like any business, sometimes lazy and dishonest people work themselves into the system and eventually have to be let go causing them to be disgruntled enough to post lies on the web. Cheap shot if you ask me. By Anonymous on January 03, 2010 at 12:06 PM
Wow! The web seems to be the place to slander decent people. I've known the owner and his partner for over 30 yrs and they are beautiful people. I believe that the people who are leaving these slanderous quotes are the same degenerates who were parking themselves daily (all day) out front of the Green Planet in Point Pleasant and who continuously harrassed customers. I talked to the owner about this and on one hand he said that he was sad to see them go at first but on the other hand his business has been improving since they left. He said that there are maney new customers who had approached him with relief that the gargoyles had left. Go figure! By Todd Lanning on January 02, 2010 at 09:15 AM
The owner of the green planet does not know how to operate a business. When a customer, ( me) complained about the lack of a certain item that he always runs out of and takes months to get.He becames argumentive, begins yelling at you. I am an adult, in my 40's and a customer.
I understand there was a group of regulars who took their business elsewhere. I sugest you do the same. By C. on September 20, 2009 at 05:26 AM
I loved going into Green Planet. The coffee was good and their was a good vibe about the place. Until I saw the owner at Costco buying his "green" food products there. Customers are not idiots, that is shameful to even say their products are worth buying. I also fear of going into this place to avoid the "friendly owner". That man is nowhere near friendly. Witnessing several outbursts on his employees and customers makes me disgusted. This place would be much better if it was under a new owner and better products. I feel sorry for the people there... save yourself dont waste your time giving this awful man business. By Sharon on April 25, 2009 at 04:04 PM
Do not spend your money in this store. The coffee is almost always cold (due to employees not caring enough to refresh the pots) and has a bitter taste. The food is stale & the employees are mostly teenage girls who act you like they are doing you a favor by serving you. There used to be friendly adult employees that worked there, but I heard they were all harassed into quitting a long time by one of the owners. Have also heard MANY stories about inappropriate comments made by this same man to his teenage employees, customers, as well as a local business woman who used to sell him scones. I know it is politically incorrect these days to say you should go to Starbucks, but in comparison to green planet you'd really be supporting a business with better standards/more respect for their employees. Or if Starbucks isn't your thing, go to anyone of the other local cafes. By Point Beach Local on February 20, 2009 at 11:38 PM
Bad service, seemed like whomever owned the place didnt know how to run it. Poor variety of products, overpriced, coffee wasnt worth the 30 minute drive- very bitter. Not very "green". The only green thing is maybe the organic coffee. VERY disappointed. Expected more out of a coffeeshop. Stick to Starbucks... or even the closest 7-eleven. By Ginger on December 15, 2008 at 08:49 PM
My friend and I have become regulars there for the last 6-8 months, going there every other Friday or Saturday night. I usually pick a flavor off the cold smoothie menu like the Peppermint Mocha and they make it like a hot latte with whip cream AND in the MUG just the way I want it. :-) For such a cozy "on the corner" place, it brings in great musicians too for entertainment.
